i unfortunately ALWAYS say i understand references because there is nothing worse to me then sitting there while someone pulls a video up on their phone so i can watch it in front of them. 0/10. they say autistic people don't understand social cues but i have no clue why our neurotypical society deems that as acceptable. truly uncomfortable for all parties.
and in my defense im extremely chronically online so i usually DO get references. but you'll rarely catch me admitting when dont. the risk is too high.
