Epilogue

Somewhere in the Atlantic, a small boat made its way toward the European coast at a slow but steady pace, containing only about ten or so passengers. After watching the three masterminds being plunged into the ocean, the survivors of RMS Monoland had located a large warehouse on the other side of the island from the park, and used the master key found in the final floor to open it up. As promised, they found the direct family members of all the students...or, in many cases, their remains rotting in a small storage closet. In an upper loft area, sealed away from the rest of them, was Gabriel's family, along with Aleks' younger sister. They had been provided with food, water and small cots to sleep on, and seemed fine, though definitely terrified.

A few of the students, including Gabriel and Yousuke, had offered to stay behind and look after the sick or injured while the rest of them travelled back to shore with the RMS Despair survivors, to go and get help. The boat eventually found itself in a small harbor in Ireland, and Arthur left the boat and found the nearest pay phone to contact the local police station and report what had happened. In a matter of days, the survivors of the second Hope's Peak tragedy had been rescued from the island and the injured or ill were recovering in a hospital.

After recovery, the remaining students and family members, including those linked to the original RMS Despair, were placed in witness protection programs. It was later discovered that after terrorists groups had begun attacking the public, many people blamed the RMS Despair survivors. After splitting up to locate RMS Monoland, the other four survivors had been attacked and killed by a group of people who blamed them for the rise of terrorist organizations inspired by Carter.

And so, for many years it seemed that things were improving for those who had been traumatized from the event. They were placed under government protection and resumed their lives anew, and the governments of the world continued to fight against terrorism. However, the end was far from over...

COMMENCING EXECUTION

The Death Coaster

Lohendra, Aleks, and Musume gleefully lead the remaining students and the RMS Despair survivors out of the castle, heading towards the front of the park. They veer off to the left, heading towards the section of the park that has been locked up...until now. Using the skeleton key, Lohendra undoes the padlock keeping the gate closed, and pushes it open. He, Aleks and Musume skip through the gate like children in a candy store, heading up the steps to the loading deck. They strap themselves in, a bar coming over their laps and keeping them secured to the cart.

Aleks gives a signal to the Monobear operating the ride, and the three masterminds grin and wave at the students and RMS survivors looking on. The coast begins to slowly climb up a steep incline...as it gets closer to the apex, Aleks, Musume and Lohendra hold their hands up, already anticipating the drop. The drop finally comes, sending the three masterminds on a huge whirlwind of turns, loops and hills, eliciting excited whoops from all three of them.

However, the tracks seem to be incomplete! The tracks stop abruptly at a particularly high point in the air, and the cart is getting closer and closer...

The cart goes flying straight off the tracks, sailing through the air , but keeping its passengers firmly in their seats. The airborn cart flies straight out into the west, landing in the sea with a huge splash that sends some rather large waves towards the shore.

A few moments after the waves subside, all is quiet.

The masterminds are dead.

Lohendra let out an uncharacteristically child-like giggle, his gaze sweeping over everyone in the room. "Heh...did you finally figure it out now? Is it my turn now? Kill the lights!" With a snap of his fingers, the lights go out in the trial room, engulfing everyone in darkness. After a few moments of confused gasps and shouts, music begins to play - an upbeat, catchy pop tune. Once the music starts playing, you hear a voice you recognize as Aleks' shout "YOU'RE SUCH A NERD!" to which Lohendra just laughs some more.

When the vocals begin to come into the song, the lights come back on, and everyone gets a good look at the third and final mastermind of RMS Monoland.

"Ta-daaa! I was one of the brilliant masterminds behind this all from the beginning! Bet you never saw this comin' huh?" Lohendra winks and strikes a pose, before striding over to join Musume and Aleks.

"...Hey! Why the hell're you all so quiet?! I'd expect a round of fuckin' applause for my dramatic reveal, ya know!" Lohendra puts his hands on his hips and puffs out his cheeks in a frustrated manner, before sighing.

"No one fuckin' appreciates theatrics anymore. Anyway..." Lohendra gives a sweeping gesture, indicating himself and his two companions. "Here we are together, in our full glory! The masterminds behind the RMS Monoland!"

"We did a pretty damn good job trying to recreate Carter's brilliant idea, if I do say so myself. Of course, we couldn't have done it without you, Tommy!" Lohendra gestures to Tommy, who grits his teeth in anger. "After all, you gathered all the information we needed in one place, and gave us tons of inspiration from Carter's idea!"

"Ahaha...I bet Carter would be so proud of us~! Y'know, the reason he spared my life is because I told him I wanted to be a psychologist. He said his name would go down in history as a great psychologist after his experiment...and now so will I! I will forever be remembered for my amazing continuations of Carter's study of the human mind!"

"Of course, he did kill off my whole family to get his experiments done, but...sacrifices must be made, huh? Anyway, their legacy lives on! I used the fortunes they left me to fund this place, after all!"

"But, it seems I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, aren't I? You're all just dying to know the full story, aren't you? How we did it? Why we did it? Keep your traps shut then, and let the three of us explain our master plan!"

When Gabriel pointed out the sound of the elevator coming down to the trial room again, everyone turned to see who it was, including Aleks and Musume, both smirking with their eyebrows raised. The elevator came to a hault and the gate slide open with a small "ping" sound, revealing three figures inside - two women and a man, the man with a young baby strapped to his front

The figures inside looked out into the trial room with wide, yet tired-looking eyes, taking in the sight before them, and the ragged bunch of students staring back at them.

"We finally found it..." One of the women, with shoulder-length black hair, stated.

These three individuals are none other than Crystal Waters, Thomas Bishop and Arthur Taylor - three of the seven survivors of the RMS Despair.

A loud, drawn out sigh was released from none other than Aleksander zimself with closed eyes and a slight shake of the head, ze had decided to finally speak to get rid of the rather thick silence. “Have you all finally, finaaaally, finally figured out that I was also one of the ones behind this?” A quiet chuckle made its way out of zir lips as the lights abruptly shut off. None of the students could even begin to react to the brief, yet startling darkness that had over taken the trial room they were all in because as quickly as they were shut off they were back on again!

However, the bright lights that had come back on once more had brought an unwelcoming sight to everyone alongside a loud noise of someone slamming their hands down on their podium… Everyone’s attention was now gathered upon the second mastermind of RMS Monoland, Aleksander von Zesch.

“Honestly, please, someone tell me just how surprising was it all for you imbeciles to find out I was also apart of the grand plan of Monoland?”  Aleks’ gaze swept across the room, examining each and every student’s expression before a cruel smile graced zir features.

“…I suppose I’ll take that damned silence as everyone’s surprise then. After all, I do take pride in my acting, so some actual fucking recognition would be nice for once. I mean, REALLY, If I wasn’t already a skilled dentist I would most certainly be one of the best actors the world’s ever seen.” Aleksander let out a bitter cackle then as ze casually brushed some of zir bangs out of zir face. “Seriously though… Did you all really… really think I was some poor innocent, fragile creature that couldn't even really begin to protect themself?”

Aleksander’s voice rose as ze flaunted zir ‘betrayal’ of the other students around as though it were nothing but a simple waste of time. Zir words took on a much harsher tone as ze gripped the podium tightly, “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me! Falling for such a simple, naïve act? I thought everyone here was a stupid ass high school student, not a god damn dribbling toddler.” Aleks’ scoffed then, crossing zir arms with nothing short of pure irritation.

“Of course… No matter how simple it was keeping up that shit for as long as I did it was the worst pain in the ass I’ve had to deal with in my entire life. Fooling you all was one thing, but if you keep an act up for too long it simply gets boring… Ahh… But, however, that’s enough about me.  Why don’t we move on to the real matter at hand here, hmm?” Humming cheerily Aleksander nodded to no one but zimself as affirmation to move on. Pausing, to create a dramatic silence of sorts, ze glanced towards the other mastermind's, Musume's, way before throwing zir arms out dramatically in front of zimself only to simply cross them once more.

“I mean… You all do have one more little rat to find out, you know?” A curt laugh from zim brought an air of nervousness over the already tense room as Aleksander spoke the next bit of information in a mocking sing-song tone of voice, “The~re’s another lit~tle mastermind hid~ing amongst us~!”

That is not what he wanted to find but he takes one of the snacks.

Shun looks in Yui's pockets. Anything in there?

There is a pencil bag containing ink pens and mechanical pencils, along with a few snack items.

Iain stomps on the N Sync CD. It's their fault Yui's dead.

Wow that's cold you insensitive jerk. He just lost a friend. How would YOU feel if your friend died and a voice in your head called you a doofus for looking at a door? Iain decides to look inside Hamasaki's bathroom to see if there are any clues there.

Nope, nothing out of place in the bathroom!

Iain decides to check out that locked door in the computer room. He doesn't have any other leads, and that door was locked before.

The door still won't budge. Good going, Iain, you doofus.

Shun puts the note back down, he doesn't wanna try and figure out what it means. Is there anything else in the room that's off?

Nope! Nothing else!

Iain decides to examine Yui's body one more time. Is there anything about it that could possibly be a clue?

Shun is beside the body, holding a small slip of paper that he found crumpled-up in Yui's right hand.

On the paper is one phrase written in a foreign language neither or familiar with, with an entirely alien alphabet.

Underneath the foreign writing is a single phrase written in Japanese - "I open at the close"

Shun decides that yeah, he'll look at the paper

Ok back to looking at the body. Is there anything on her body that's not injuries? Like a weapon or something.

There seems to be something clutched in her right hand - a crumpled up piece of paper. Does Shun take a look at the paper?
