Je länger ich trainiere umso mehr merke ich, wie wichtig das fokussieren auf Schwachstellen ist. Meine Schwachstelle in meinem Handstand training liegt im Drücken aus den Schultern und der unterbalance, wenn man sich über die Schultern bewegt. Und genau da helfen Wall Slides into Tuck mega, fühle ich. Was sind die Schwachstellen in eurem Training, an denen ihr arbeitet? When Corona started I went fully into handstand training. This is the result after following @matthewismith. Thank you so much for the work and traching, Matthew! I will visit you in the UK for more personal training sessions once my skill set gets more advanced. :) I am super hyped. What an incredibly rewarding experience. Deutsch folgt Englisch:⁣ 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 driving for hours through no man's land we reached Ouarzazate. The city is also called the gateway to the Sahara. That's how the ride felt. The road stubbornly went straight for miles, on the right and left there was only stony-sandy lowlands. As if out of nowhere, an oasis suddenly rose from the sand. And in the middle of the green, the houses towered. As we passed through the city, we saw almost no one. Where were all the people? They had withdrawn into Todra Gorge, a gorge with a river that feeds the oasis. Our next destination!⁣ 𝗡𝗔𝗖𝗛 stundenlanger Fahrt durchs Niemandsland erreichten wir Ouazarzarte. Man nennt die Stadt auch das Tor zur Sahara. So fühlte sich die Fahrt auch an. Die Straße verlief stur geradeaus über Meilen, rechts und links gab es nur steinig-sandiges Flachland. Wie aus dem nichts erhob sich plötzlich eine Oase aus dem Sand. Und inmitten all des Grüns ragten die Häuser. Während wir die Stadt durchfuhren, sahen wir fast niemanden. Wo waren all die Menschen? Sie hatten sich in die Todra Gorge, eine Schlucht mit Fluss der die Oase speist, zurückgezogen. Deutsch folgt Englisch: 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗢𝗠! 45 degrees Celsius of pure heat. Our air conditioning was broken and even the wind felt like a warm hair dryer. The cooling shades of the mountains lay behind us and around us there was only rock, sand and stone. We saw the first green about half an hour after leaving the Atlas Mountains. In front of us was a small oasis with a tiny settlement built out of clay in the middle of it. People wear turban-like head scarves to withstand the incredible heat and sun. The sweat poured down our backs. When it's cold, you can get dressed. But getting away from the heat is impossible at the latest when you are naked. :D It is incredible to me that there is such a climate on our planet earth and even more incredible that people live here. We really are a diverse species!⁣ 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗢𝗠! 45 Grad Hitze. Unsere Klimaanlage war kaputt und selbst der Fahrtwind fühlte sich an wie ein warmer Fön. Die kühlenden Berge lagen hinter uns und um uns herum gab es nur noch Fels, Sand und Stein. Das erste Grün erblickten wir ca. eine halbe Stunde hinter den Atlas Bergen. Vor uns erhob sich eine Oase in deren Mitte eine lehmerbaute winzige Siedlung ragte. Die Menschen tragen turban-ähnliche Tücher um der unglaublichen Hitze und Sonne zu wiederstehen. Uns lief der Schweiß in Strömen am Rücken runter. Wenn es kalt ist, kann man sich anziehen. Aber der Hitze zu entfliehen ist spätestens dann unmöglich, wenn man nackt ist. :D Es ist unglaublich, dass es solch ein Klima auf unserer Erde gibt und noch unglaublicher, dass Menschen hier leben. English follows German:⁣ SCHAUT euch einfach nur mal diese krassen Berge an. Da braucht man echt nicht viel zu schreiben. Selbst in dieser entlegenen Region haben sich neben der Straße Dörfer angesiedelt. Und anders, als in den touristischen Städten Marokkos wie Marrakesch sind die Menschen hier viel unberührter vom Tourismus und Trubel. Wir werden manchmal beäugt wie Aliens, was man verstehen kann. Am Straßenrand wird Honig verkauft, der im Hals brennt, wenn man ihn isst. Lukas und ich hatten abwechselnd Sonnenstich, was man immer daran merkt, dass einer von uns super gut gelaunt ist, während der andere grummelnd und bis aufs Messer genervt in der Ecke hängt. :D Hahaha, zum Glück trifft es immer nur einen von uns. Unser Auto ist wegen der fehlenden Klimaanlage heiß wie ein Ofen und unser Kilo Schokolade schwimmt im ausgeschalteten Kühlkasten. Die Wüste grüßt.⁣ ⁣ LOOK at these mountains. You really don't need to write much to feel in awe. Even in this remote region, small villages have settled next to the road. And unlike in the cities of Morocco such as Marrakech, the people here are much more untroubled by tourism. We are sometimes eyed like aliens. Honey is sold on the side of the road that burns in the throat when you eat it. Lukas and I took turns having sunstroke, which you can always tell from the fact that one of us is in a great mood, while the other is a grumbling, annoyed mess in the corner. :D Hahaha, luckily it always only affects one of us. Deutsch folgt Englisch:⁣ IMAGINE yourself driving up a mountain road in absolute darkness. There is a 30 cm deep pothole every few meters ahead of you. On one side is the mountain and on the other side there is a steep cliff going 400m downhill. Falling is certain death. Evasion other vehicles is almost impossible. And if that's not enough, a fully loaded truck comes towards you every few minutes . Our ass went on ice. The Atlas Mountains are a beast. And at night they show you their teeth. We went uphill for hours and we had no idea where to stop and sleep. Wild camping is prohibited. At some point the tiredness forced us to stop and move off the road and hide our car in the bushes. The danger was just too great. But the place where we woke up the next morning was just worth it!⁣ ⁣ STELLT euch mal vor ihr fahrt in absoluter Dunkelheit eine Bergstraße hoch. Alle 5 Meter kommt ein 30 cm tiefes Schlagloch. Auf der einen Seite ist der Berg und auf der anderen Seite geht es ohne Begrenzung 400m steil bergab. Abstürzen ist der sichere Tod. Ausweichen ist fast unmöglich. Und wenn das nicht schon genug ist kommen einen auf so einer Straße alle paar Minuten ein voll beladener LKW entgegen. Uns ging der Arsch auf Grundeis. Die Atlas Berge sind ein Biest. Und nachts zeigen sie dir ihre Zähne. Stundenlang ging es bergauf und wir hatten keine Idee, wo wir anhalten und schlafen konnten. Wildcampen ist verboten. Irgendwann zwang uns dann die Müdigkeit anzuhalten und von der Straße abzuweichen und unser Auto im Gebüsch zu verstecken. Die Gefahr war einfach zu groß. English follows German:⁣ WARUM gehen Menschen tagelang in den Bergen wandern? Oder suchen nach Abenteuer in der Natur? Ich denke, man vergisst einfach all die Probleme, die man jeden Tag um sich herum hat. Weil man sich auf einmal nur darum kümmert dass man warm, satt, ausgeruht und sein Tagesziel erreicht. In der Reihenfolge. Genau diese Erfahrungen treiben auch mich in die Natur. In diesem Moment waren wir aber unterwegs in Fez. Die Stadt hat die wohl bekannteste Medina Marokkos. Medinas sind die alten, engen und labyrinthartigen Innenstädte Nordafrikas. Da passen keine Autos durch und man findet jeden Tag tausende Händler in den Gassen. In Fez werden Lederwaren hergestellt. Mit marokkanischer Gasmaske bewaffnet (ein Büschel Pfefferminze vor dem Gesicht) kann man sehen wo das Leder in Taubenkacke weichgemacht und dann gefärbt wird. Es stinkt zum Himmel, ist aber mega interessant.⁣ ⁣ WHY do people go hiking in the mountains for days? Or are looking for adventures in nature? I think doing so people forget all the problems they have every day. Because suddenly one only cares to be warm, full, rested and to achieve the daily goal. In this order. It is exactly these experiences that drive me into nature. On those pictures we were in Fez. The city has the most famous medina in Morocco. Medinas are the old, narrow and maze-like inner cities of North Africa. No cars fit through the streets and you find thousands of merchants in the streets. Fez is also known for its leather industry. Armed with a Moroccan gas mask (a tuft of peppermint in front of your face) you can see where the leather is softened in pigeon poop and then dyed. English follows German:⁣ HABT ihr jemals eine komplett blaue Stadt gesehen? Chefchaouen ist mittlerweile ein Wahrzeichen Marokkos und wenn man durch eine solche Stadt läuft, dann ist man als Reisender eigentlich gar nicht mehr so alleine. Es gibt wie überall an interessanten Ecken in der Welt mittlerweile eine Menge Touristen. Der Trick, Orte zu besuchen, die weniger zugänglich sind. Daher sind Roadtrips im eignen Auto auch so beliebt. Man lässt sich weniger von den Reisebüros vorschreiben, was man machen darf und soll. 😊 Und die meisten wirklich krassen Geschichten und Begebenheiten passieren letzten Endes, wenn man sie gar nicht erwartet. An diesem Abschnitt unserer Reise wurden wir zum ersten Mal mit unserem von nun an ständigen Begleiter, dem Sonnenstich, bekannt. Hinzu kam nun auch noch erste Anzeichen, dass unsere Klimaanlage den Geist aufgab und wir vorhatten, ohne Belüftung in die Wüste zu fahren. :D Klingt nach guten Grundvoraussetzungen für eine lange Reise durch Afrika mit bis zu 50 Grad Höchsttemperaturen.⁣ ⁣ Have you ever seen a completely blue city? Chefchaouen is now a landmark of Morocco and when you walk through such a city, you are actually no longer so alone as a traveller. Like everywhere else in the world where places become known there are a lot of tourists now. The trick to visiting places that are less accessible. That's why road trips in your own car are so popular. You don't let travel agencies dictate what you can and should do. 😊 And most of the really interesting stories and events ultimately happen when you don't expect them. In this section of our trip we became known for the first time with our constant companion, the sunstroke. Deutsch folgt Englisch:⁣ AFTER our initial problems at customs there was nothing to hold us back. Our buddy Jonas had to come a week later because of the university. We wanted to pick him up in Agadir. Until then we had a lot of time and decided to visit a few cities and then conquer the Atlas Mountains. Because behind them the desert was waiting for us. Who does not start dreaming at the thought of sand dunes as far as one can see? Or how about spending a night between the dunes and watching an incredibly clear starry sky? For us those reasons were more than enough to dare the long ride towards Mali. First impression in Morocco? Pretty cool. Intense colors, more than friendly people, exotic cities. What do you think?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Nach unseren anfänglichen Problemen beim Zoll gab es nichts, was uns zurückhalten könnte. Unser Kumpel Jonas musste eine Woche später wegen der Universität kommen. Wir wollten ihn in Agadir abholen. Bis dahin hatten wir viel Zeit und beschlossen, einige Städte zu besuchen und dann das Atlasgebirge zu erobern. Denn hinter den Bergen wartete die Wüste auf uns. Wer beginnt nicht bei dem Gedanken an Sanddünen zu träumen, soweit man sehen kann? Oder wie wäre es mit einer Nacht zwischen den Dünen unter einem unglaublich klaren Sternenhimmel? English follows German: WIE baut man eigentlich einen Krankenwagen für eine zwei monatige Reise durch Afrika aus? Erstmal musste alles raus, was zum Leben retten in der Vergangenheit wichtig war. Wir waren drei Typen und brauchten Platz. Und neben all dem ganzen Gepäck mussten auch noch 3 Betten reinpassen. Kuschelsessions waren unerwünscht. :D Wir fuhren in ein Malariagebiet und wollten uns Mücken-sicher verschanzen können nachts. Der Ausbau dauerte 3 Tage. Und das Ergebnis war ziemlich gut. Noch wussten wir nicht, dass uns die Mücken im Sumpf und vor allem die unglaubliche Hitze in der Wüste im Auto uns doch noch überwinden würden. Dazu später mehr. :D ----------- How do you prepare an ambulance for a two-month trip through Africa? First of all, everything that was important to save life in the past had to come out. We were three guys and needed space. And in addition to all the luggage, 3 beds also had to fit in. No sweaty snuggling sessions desired! :D We drove into a malaria area and wanted to be able to protect ourselves at night from the mosquitos. The project took 3 days. And the result was pretty good. At that point we still didn't know that the mosquitoes in the swamp and above all the incredible heat in the desert would overcome us at some point. English follows German: Erst kurz unterwegs schon ging beinahe alles schief! Nach 3 Tagen Europa und im Krankenwagen spanische Touristen verwundern gings endlich auf die Fähre nach Marokko. Ein spanisches Kind sah mich am Auto und fragte aufgeregt: „Es un hombre muerto en el coche? (Ist da ein Toter im Auto?)“ , worauf ich ohne ein Wort verstanden zu haben mit „Si, Si!“ antwortete. Sein Vater hat ihn schnell weggezogen. Dummerweise sprach sich die Story auf dem Schiff rum und als wir ausstiegen wollten die marokkanischen Zollbeamten den Toten sehen. Holy shit! Zusätzlich wollte man uns nicht die Einfahrt wegen der roten Kreuze erlauben und so begannen wir nach 30 Minuten Diskussion mit Messern am Auto die Aufkleber abzukratzen. Irgendwann fiel den Jungs dann auf, dass abkleben es auch bringt und man ließ uns endlich durch. Nach diesem Dämpfer machten wir uns sofort auf zum Strand und schmiedeten von dort unsere Pläne für die Zukunft. Und was lernen wir? Sag niemals ja wenn du nichts kapiert hast. Hahaha! :D Und yes! Wir waren in Afrika! Only a short while on the go and almost everything went wrong! After 3 days in Europe whilst startling Spanish tourists with the ambulance we took the ferry to Morocco. A Spanish child saw me and asked excitedly: “Es un hombre muerto en el coche? (Is there a dead man in the car?) “, to which I answered without understanding a word enthusiastically with “Si, Si! ”. His father quickly pulled him away. Unfortunately, the story got around on the ship and when we got out the Moroccan customs officials wanted to see the dead person. Holy shit! In addition, they did not want to allow us to enter because of the red crosses on the car. So after 30 minutes of discussion we began to scratch off the stickers from the car. At some point the costum boys noticed that masking it with tape works as well and we were finally let through into the country. After this shock we immediately went to the beach and made our plans for the future. And what do we learn? Never verify something you didn’t get. Hahaha! : D And yes! English follows German: Vor fast 2 Jahren haben meine besten Kumpels und ich das Abenteuer unseres Lebens gestartet. Wir sind 12.000 km in einem alten Krankenwagen von Deutschland über 8 verschiedene Länder bis nach Ghana gefahren. Das enstpricht mehr als zwei mal der Rally Dakar. Ein halbes Jahr lang haben wir jede Woche zusammengesessen und geplant. Und was wir erlebt haben war einfach zu krass. Von sternenklaren Nächten mit Nomaden in der Wüste zu Klippenspringen in Oasen, Schlammschlachten auf Bergstraßen im Gewitter bis hin zu krassen Begegnungen mit korrupten Soldaten… Es ist zu viel, um es in einem einzigen Post festzuhalten. Das Hier wird eine Reise, an der wir mehrmals beinahe scheiterten und es jede Sekunde wert war. Mir fehlen die Worte um zu beschreiben, wie wichtig mir meine Jungs auf der Reise waren. Wir haben es geschafft. Ihr seit die Besten. Almost 2 years ago, my best buddies and I started the adventure of a lifetime. We drove 12,000 km in an old ambulance from Germany to 8 different countries to Ghana. This corresponds to the Dakar Rally more than twice. We sat together and planned every week for half a year. And what we experienced was just overwhelming. From starry nights with nomads in the desert to cliff diving in oases, mud fights on mountain roads in the thunderstorm to blatant encounters with corrupt soldiers ... It's too much to put it in one post. This was a trip where we almost failed several times and which was worth every second. I don't have the words to describe how important my boys are to me. Rückblick: Manchmal berühren einen Menschen einfach nur krass. Das untere Bild war 2018 auf unserer Afrika Reise im Krankenwagen. Das Obere fast 2 Jahre später, als ich ihn besuchte. Der Mann auf dem Bild heißt Abdullah und verkauft Tee in Marocco. Wir sprechen keine gemeinsame Sprache, aber wir hatten sofort ein Band zwischen uns. Wer weiß, was da alles in den Tee reingemixt wurde, so wie wir grinsen! Hahaha! Manchmal braucht es einfach nur Menschlichkeit, um zu kommunizieren und nicht vergessen zu werden. Jetzt mit Sonne am Strand sitzen wäre einfach Bombe, oder? Das Bild ist noch aus Portugal als ich meine Ausbildung zum PADI Dive Master angefangen habe. Ich bin damals direkt nach der Schule für ein Jahr nach Neuseeland abgehauen und dachte einfach so: „Geil, und wenn ich zurück komme weiß ich, was ich werden will.“ Natürlich hatte ich selbst nach meinen unglaublichen Abenteuern in Neuseeland noch absolut keinen Plan und bin erstmal in ein Loch gefallen. Zudem habe ich eine Absage von 30 Universitäten in Deutschland bekommen. 30! Ich musste was tun. Probleme lösen sich eben nicht von selbst. 😊 Nach 3 Monaten Kellnern habe ich dann einfach das Erstbeste gemacht, was mir in den Sinn kam. Der erste Schritt zum Tauchlehrer! Und ganz ehrlich?
