RDR2 AU Fanfic idea:

After the events of Blackwater and Colter, fearing for Jack and John's lives, Abigail cuts a deal with the Pinkertons to give intel about the Van der Linde gang's robberies in exchange for protection & leniency for her family.

After John kills Micah, Abigail finally gains the courage to admit that she was the real informant working for the Pinkertons, and Micah (while evil) was technically loyal to the gang.

John has to reevaluate his relationship with Abigail, and come to terms with the fact that his wife may have indirectly been responsible for the deaths of Hosea, Lenny, etc., expedited Arthur's doom, and tore apart the gang he grew up in.

Changes to canon:

-Abigail is the rat since Horseshoe Overlook

-Micah is not the rat, just an asshole

-(in the final mission) Milton is about to expose Abigail, not Micah, when she shoots him
