I find it interesting that the Hazel Realm in The Oaken Throne is also referred to by a more formal, Latin-sounding name, Coll Regalis. Did you ever come up with similar formal names for the other squirrel houses, and if so, what are they? Also, would you happen to have any early sketches of Ysabelle you could post? She's my favourite of your characters.

I’m sure the other realms did have similar formal names, not sure what they are offhand. That would require hunting through many sketchpads, unless it was mentioned in the almanack? An early drawing of Ysabelle would be in the same pads.

October's specific fan question! :^) Most of your fans are aware that you write at night and that you occasionally scare yourself with your own writing. My question is, what (or who) scared you the most to write?

Oh you ask the tough questions, Aufy!

I have to be scared by each of the monsters or villains in turn, otherwise it won’t come across on the page. Having said that, I think maybe the Punchinellos were probably the most loathsome and frightening creatures, because I first saw them in a dream so they were an actual nightmare to begin with. I could never adequately describe just how terrifying they truly were.

It’s surprising though just how much of a life of their own some characters do acquire. Some of the heinous things they get up to, or say, seem to come from nowhere and shock me sometimes.
