I made this years ago when I was into indian art. I was recieving the magazine southwest art, and it had an effect on my art. I made this acrylic painting to remind people that we need to protect as much land and wildlife as possible. It is in our best interest to do so. Future generations will know what it is to have a beautiful national park, and to see the natural wildlife that lives there.
Yesterday I visited the Circle of Orange, where they have a bunch of vintage stores selling all kinds of old collectables, clothing, etc. I like walking around with my camera and taking pictures of the random items I see that peek my interests! I found this cool skull which has had the top cut off and hinged back on, creepy!
This is the Newport to Balboa trolley car that still to this day runs! It is at the Orange Empire Train Museum in Perris, CA. This is a good example of what I do as a photographer. I go to a localtion and take my pictures, then I take them home look them over, and work on the best ones. I then add certain textures and effects to enhance the overall look and feel of the piece.
Here is my work called Life and Death! It started out as a sketch which I finished with color pencil and ink. Then I took the image into the computer and redrew the skull and rose in illustrator, to get the image into vector format, which is scalable. I put the web behind the skull and kept the colors to a minimum in the new version. This image I used on my t-shirts, which I had done a few years back. Hope you enjoy!
This is Ava, she is my nephews pitbull, she is a blue nose pitbull and a big love! I am her uncle, and as such have a special relationship with her. She loves giving kisses as you can see! I get her all worked up and she comes right up, jumps up and kisses and licks me to death, which you can tell I just hate, huh? I love this dog something fierce!
I call this piece Space Junk. It is a government project to put a clock into space, and like all government projects it lost it's funding and is now just floating in space, a useless pile of junk. I like the thought of time unraveling in space. Time and space are so connected in our minds. I have done this piece over and over, in pencil, acrylic paint and digitally.
I am fasinated with the moon! Here are a few shots I have taken of her. She many looks and it's presense are forever ingrained in my mind. Crescent moon, full moon, waxing moon, blood moon, waning moon, half moon, and let's not forget the blue moon! She hold reign over our tides, and smiles down at us, always showing her best side. However she does have a dark side, a side few ever see! We have landed on her and stuck her with our flag, like she belongs to us or something, LOL! She can add drama to the night sky, or be barely seen during the day, but she is always there!
Space the final frontier! I have always loved looking up to the night sky and wondering....I made this piece out of texture shots I have taken over the years. I created a circular mask, and made the backgrounf on a seperate layer in photoshop elements. It was fun making each planet or moon a differnt color/feel. I painted the stars in and created that color blob on a differnet layer as well and blurred it for effect. Hope you enjoy!
