Caregiver Ramattra Headcanons & Imagine
A very tough outer shell with a softer but not soft interior.
Ramattra's first instincts would probably be mean out of a lack of understanding, or he would just drop you off with his brother.
He gets on best with regressors who are non-human, but would over time be able to appreciate a human age regressor.
He struggles with some human emotions, and is not the best at comforting. He will however stay by your side when you're upset. He may not know what to do, but he won't abandon you in a time of need.
If you empathise with him or his struggles with his people, he would open up to you and help you through yours.
Extremely loyal and brave. Once he attaches to you, he will keep you safe. He is an omnic of his word.
He is strict when it comes to rules like bedtime and eating times. He would do very well with regressors who need specific routines.
Ramattra is not all evil, he just has a high distrust of certain people because of his history. Bonding with him will take time, but it is worth it in the end.
Ramattra would playfight with you, and teach you self-defense. He knows how tough the world is, and he wants you to be prepared.
Ramattra would not enjoy caregiver titles at first. He would pretend to hate nicknames like 'Rammy', but they would eventually grow on him. With time, he would want to be called 'Dad'.

You felt the breath leave your body raggedly, your chest heaving up and down. The air was silent except for the sound of your breathing, as you watched the ball roll away. You felt the corners of your mouth tug into a grin almost immediately as you remember how much faster and stronger you were today. Playing outside again was so fun, you were glad Ramattra had talked you into it. You were so engrossed in the thought that as you turned to go back towards the house, you stumbled and felt the concrete scrape painfully against the skin of your forearm.
With a hiss of your teeth, you clasp it. Your grin quickly warps into a frown as you see red blood smeared against your palm. Tears spring in the corner of your eyes as you feel just how much it stings. You grit your teeth harder to deal with the pain, trying to remember the breathing skills Zenyatta had both you and Ramattra try. You close your eyes as you pull the breaths in and push them out again, but your mouth is wobbling and tears are streaming. No, no, no! This wasn't how it worked. Your tears stream down further, your eyes shut so tight you don't see the shadow looming over you.
"Child?" Comes a deeper robotic voice. "Show me your injury."
Reluctantly, you open your bleary eyes and pull your hand away from your forearm. In response, you hear a soft hum come from Ramattra.
"Humans can be so fragile," he muses as he puts out his hand for you to hold. He leads you carefully back to the house, one eye on you the whole time. "Even when you are strong and fast, the world catches up to you."
He sits you down on a chair, and sits in front of you on his own. You wearily note the first aid kit on the kitchen table.
"It's different... but not bad," he says, in that calm voice you've gotten to know so well. "Failure may not be acceptable on the battlefield, but it is required in training. And you, are still in training for life. Never forget that."
You feel his words wash over you, the cogs in your brain turning as your breath goes more evenly. You barely notice the sting as he cleans your scrape and places a large plaster over it. You just watch him, working methodically, not a word between you. He doesn't have to say it, his love for you is in everything he does.
I hope you enjoyed, anon! I wanted to apologise for getting this out so late, so I made an extra long post for you! Ramattra is an awesome cg.
