Here is one of the reshoots I did for the light gold version of my stained glass Die Ice & Fire taken with the new lights.
New Equipment
I AM NO LONGER CONTAINED BY THE HOURS OF THE DAY OR THE FABLED "GOLDEN HOUR". THE PUNY SUN HAS NO POWER OVER ME NOW. Got a new light for photography!
Got some golden hour shots of the Kraken dice. Only one left in stock!!
After taking a break in the winter I have returned. I have refreshed my molds, tweaked some designs and have brought some new designs to show you! These designs are up on my shop right now but in limited quantities, in addition for this run I will include an block print inspired by the kraken design.
First, Release the Kraken! Stained Glass Die. Designed to create a whole scene when sitting flat on the 20, A ship unaware of the monster about to strike. From the top you can see the monsters eye looking at the ship and from the kraken on the bottom you can find its eye filled with its next meal. As with most of my other stained glass dice I have painted the lines, painted the panes with an alcohol ink, and put a shell over it for a fully resin and durable die. It is in a count down rotation so it can be used by both normal players and dms who want a timer to worry their players alike. The lines are copper and the numbers are a slightly transparent gold so that when you hold it to a bright light they almost disappear. While the panes of the sea transition from a light blue to a deep blue, the ship has hand painted sails with a brown hull and the monster is a green with yellow eyes.
Next we have the Astral Map 35mm Die. Each face represents parts of a stellar map, each orbit connecting, rounding, and swinging to each other in search for some great treasure deep in the astral sea. Complex patterns line the die enough so that it would make ones spirit soar. The lines are a bright green to represent the Astral Map being activated. The core consists of gold mica powder and orange ink to achieve a deep gold color. Its lines are a crisp white for maximum readability. It is also in a count down orientation.
And lastly, I also have restocked my classic Stained Glass Dragon die, my Daggerheart Prism dice, and my Daggerheart Rage & Serenity dice.
Here is a link to more of the photos as well as my etsy if you want to try and grab one. I have 100% made these by hand and would love to have your support! https://www.etsy.com/shop/goblinart154/
Can't share much till tomorrow or the next day but here is something related...
I won't post a full photo of the Deep Sea Stained Glass Dice (reply with a better name!) until its fully finished but I'll post this as a teaser!
First prototypes are looking NICE
New Dice Update:
The new molds are just about done, they are on the last set of curing. So SOON I will make the prototypes for the new designs!!!
Dice Making Tip
If you ever decide to start making dice and print the dice via a resin printer you may run into a problem called CURE INHABITION. Basically when casting a resin print in platinum based silicone the sulfur gases from the print (however small) can cause the silicone to stay goopy. But there is a way around this. From an odd reddit post I found that lye can make the off-gassing process much quicker. But I didn't want to buy some. I remembered a story my dad told me, he and his dad made lye from wood ash to de-worm their pigs. So I grab some from the fireplace, a funnel, and a mason jar. Funnel into the jar with about 10-15 coffee filters in it. Then I tamped down the ash in the filters to 3/4ths of the filter (make sure the walls are also covered). Then simply add water and wait for it to filter into the jar, refilling as needed. But be careful, it is caustic. But with proper safety precautions, gloves and a mask for safety, you can off-gas your resin prints in hours instead of weeks!
Finally got some master dies made. Treasure planet map and sea monster are done. Gotta make the molds next.
Finally got the design on the model. now I gotta go through lychee slicer and get everything supported, along with the other bits I gotta print. But overall I think this follows the vision I had.
(if you want to see bits of the design look at some of my other posts!)
Here is the A side of the die, the b side will finish out the scene. The plan is to have a boat being seen by the eyes, completing the whole thing when looking through a clear die.
Here is a little bit of a BTS for making my dice, lots of sketches like this in misc sketch books until I think I have something. The one I am working on right now will end up more like a scene instead of just creature focused so I am really excited about it.
I also make Hope & Fear dice for Daggerheart! I called it Rage & Serenity.
Here is another of my designs, the Celestial Dragon die, it glows in the dark and is one of my personal favs.
I make stained glass dice and here is a sneak peak at my new design! It's inspired by the map from treasure planet. And below is an example of what some of my other designs look like, it has two dragons that flock on either side of the die.
