Hm...

Looking at the events that happened, I think we can rule out the note having anything to do with it, it's way too obvious to be anything other than a trap, and noone's stupid enough to leave a "THIS WAS ME" right out there for everyone to see.

I do think we should examine the glasses case in some way though. I don't really know anyone who actually wears glasses, mind you. But barring some kinda double double bluff, I think that's what we should be focusing on here.

Knew the layout of the building

Looking at cards when attacked

Physical evidence

Put in a choke hold

Slammed against the wall while being held

Cards strewn everywhere (the ones he was holding when attacked)

Implied evidence

The attacker knew Kai

"they inch closer, until their lips brush against your ear" the physical closeness would signify that maybe they were pretty close to Kai (or they just don’t give a fuck BUT)

"But to think, of all peop—" welp, I don’t think this needs explaining.

I agree with Vector. The person we're looking for is likely someone Kai knew personally. Kai's not a small guy either, so it's gotta be someone strong enough to actually hold him down like that, or he wouldn't likely have gone down so easily.

The only other explanation I can think of is that it's someone that he wouldn't possibly have thought would come after him, and that shocked him enough for him not to have done something in time.

This whole thing is so damned confusing, guys. Damn. Could be nearly anyone right now.
