Hello World! (a personal goal is to see how many card puns I can make in this so be prepared)

I’m the mod for this blog, I decided to make it when I saw new core surge STS2 blogs popping up! This should just be an overview of my tags and rules!

I’m going to make an equilibrium to standards to the other blogs I’ve seen, no NSFW or hate. This might get updated as we go to make sure the amount I miss is null.

2. I will be attempting to base as much of my text posts off of the samples the Defect has but as with all the characters we don’t necessarily have a lot. Most interactions with the ancients read something like “beeping noises” so I’m translating that for everyone

3. Text replies are the standard, my drawing skills are abysmal but I might reblog some good art!

4. This blog is run by @Hexesandwyrmwood, nice to meet you all! Pronouns for the mod are They/Any, and Defect has always been It/Its

5. My policy on mature asks is ‘Is it mature for violence, blood, or other non sexually natured topics’? Those are allowed with the proper triggers given with the knowledge that any anomalies you submit within those parameters may not be answered. However as I, the mod for this blog, am asexual and generally prefer to keep myself out of such discussions, I would ask that sexually natured mature asks are not submitted and will never be answered.

Actually no, bonus! I’ll be adding occasional codes within my posts and if you’d like, they will all be common ciphers. I will reuse the same cipher over again until someone translates it correctly at which point I will switch ciphers. So for a bit of extra fun, try and figure out what I’m trying to add as a bit of non necessary context.

Personal preference is difficult due to existing biases however results from compiled spoils indicates advancing past guardians of Hive is challenging but provides meaningful results when successful. In another note, elites found in Glory bring interesting combats that require focus to ensure survival.

All bosses guarding ascension of the spire require adequate planning, but few so much as Knowledge Demon or The Devourer, so another point against Hive and its… lethality.

M!As sound fun, I think that’s modifier asks? I’ve seen the term on Ironclads blog. I’m interested to see what you’ll send me seeing as the only one I’ve seen has been making Ironclad a woman, and that wouldn’t exactly work for Defect, opposite gender of none being all and I’m not sure how I could play that many genders into a character I explicitly never have refer to itself as a way to make its speech pattern a bit rougher and more robotic.

His Majesty’s minions are creations, and to be created is to have purpose. Their sacrificial purpose is what they were meant to do, and to fulfill that is not something to be judged. There remains a question on how sentient the minions may be, clearly possessing some but not necessarily full knowledge and ability to feel pain. Creating such constructs and building in pain receptors or the ability to know what is asked of them and then sacrificing them anyways would be something to oppose, however it is doubtful the Regent would put forth such effort for the suffering of those he considered bundles of joy.

Orobas’ assistance with finding parts is always appreciated, with numerous insights into data sets based on older times! Repair will always be needed until the Architect is defeated, however the gifts provided can temporarily improve many aspects and performance of parts during time spent searching within the spire. While direct acceptance of objects cannot be made through ANOMALIES, the knowledge that was attempted to be put in remains. In any case, the gift is sincerely appreciated and is very shiny

Ancients are always welcome as they provide incredibly unique parts! Preferred parts come from each of them, but the ANOMALY asked for specific preferences. While all gifts are appreciated and the givers even more for that, Oboras, the Living Rainbow and Tanx, the Khimera King are always a welcome addition upon the climbing of the spire. Time spent with Tezcatara, It Which Fuels the Fire is always fascinating, and though Nonupeipe, Serendipity Incarnate has stated conflicting comments about beauty, her forthcoming attitude about conversing on the definitions of such data has been found to be inconclusive. It could not be stated that a personal negative opinion is held however due to the influence on Ironclad, Vakuu the First Demon is less welcome than the others.

As for the repair, it is assumed that consciousness is ingrained within the core upon first resurrection. Cores would require repair however modification from current state can and has occurred and consciousness has not faded. Flaw may not have experienced core modification, however it has happened such as when Frozen Core parts are utilized upon gathering from bosses. Whether the Architect’s repairs alter cores further, it is unknown, however should it occur consciousness is likely to remain.

Data logs unclear due to lack of upgrades from referenced timeframe, however some remain. Limited data compiled into the idea that upon cracking of core and losing a majority of parts, sapience was gained. Other parts missing included data disk, emotion chip, and proper cables. Such upgrades have since been collected and most hardwired in however immediate benefits are lost unless new variations are collected again.

A message to the fellow

Greetings (1.7.1.9.14)! Last time communication occurred, the line was opened and the alternate ANOMALY was sighted. This time, more data is required on beckoning a fellow with a reply to an ANOMALY!

As such it is desired that directing protocols towards requests that would draw attention occurs. Additionally these protocols would support secondary objective; Data Collection. Following this logic,

Does the fellow posses favorite methods of utilizing found parts?

Does the fellow have preferences between orbs?

Does the fellow have protocols as mentioned within ANOMALY reports created?

The Defect (or, well, The other Defect) picks up on the message swiftly! It's happy to answer the other's questions, and it has some of its own to boot.

It first projects a list of logs from the last few times it went scrap hunting. There's a set of parameters about scrap priority, listing self repair, Orb development, and new weaponry, among others. There's also a cosmetic category that's at the bottom but the only thing there is a still undefined "tail" for "wagging".

Next, it channels a couple of Glass Orbs, making a series of fond whirs and beeps. A soft, slightly wavering, drone emits from it as it thinks about its friend.

Lastly, it takes out the strange tablet that it's been receiving these messages from. Most of them have been kind, though there's also a taunt from The Architect... Still, so far, it's been a nice time speaking with others.

It thinks for a moment before projecting some images of Spire flora and fauna. Perhaps asking for a preference? Then, a picture of a mysterious gunslinger with a piercing orange eye and a cowboy hat, accompanied by a small pink and orange Louse with a smaller cowboy hat, followed by a question mark. Asking for recognition? Maybe whereabouts?

The Defect tilts its head aside, then pulls up some information on its old compatriot. He was known as The Hermit, and he had a knack for accuracy and turning curses into boons... A fellow Slayer from the first go around, though it didn't see him nearly as often as the others, even The Watcher.

Considering they seem to be the same individual in different situations, it suggests that maybe it just never ran into him?

To speak on Flaw, it is a wonderful friend and an ideal battle partner! With its tendencies towards fast beam focused combat, it allows for construct protocols that would usually involve more time spent at risk of sustaining potentially critical levels of damage. Flaw possesses more social protocols and data logs for interactive analysis than any projections that have been run since meeting Flaw suggest! It is incredibly interesting and returning to the Scrapyard to share and analyze data logs with Flaw.

The Defect perks up at that, intrigued. It had heard about duplicates of its fellows running with them in an attempt to make more headway up the Spire, but it had yet to run into one of its own. Obviously it had to have at least one, it would be incredibly perplexing if it didn't, but actually hearing about one was a surprise.

If it approached, it would be glad to interact!
