i see a lot of complaints about gimmick fights in slay the spire 2, but i honestly love them. it feels like there’s continuity between sts 1 and 2.

skulking colony has one of the heart’s unique buffs, knight gang is like slavers on steroids, even soul phish is reminiscent of nemisis.

but i think my favorite gimmick fight is soul nexus:
