Extremely low effort homemade bread is a boon in these trying times. I’ve been baking a loaf about every third day since my household started isolating, just made #7 this morning.

Improvised laptop stand as working from home gets real 📼
Thank your local tax collector? I dunno, I guess I’m in a good mood this morning and she’s been patient in past years when I’ve been terribly late with my excise payments...
Watercolor sketch kit, big pockets cold weather version. Having a single hot pack available has done wonders for my stamina. Just knowing that I can use it helps my hands feel better even if I don’t crack it open. A loved one had a whole bunch sitting around unused, and she gave me enough to last at least through next year at the rate I’ve been using them. #watercolor #WatercolorPalette #PleinAir
Tonight I helped lead the second part of our #WalnutInk workshop, hosted by Smith College Libraries and the Botanc Garden of Smith College.
So much fun! The students got to see examples of ink drawings and handmade paper from the collections, and make their own using the paper and walnut ink we made last week. ✨ Dip pens and brushes and ink, some of my favorite things ✨
Simmer down! From a handout I made for a #WalnutInk workshop I’m presenting tomorrow. So fun!

I brought a bit of my #WalnutInk on my Alaska vacation, and did a few doodles with it. Leaving it behind for some art students to try out 💕 (saves luggage space and I have lots more at home)

Packing list time... I think I might stick to this one?? It’s quite specific, for two weeks in southeast Alaska winter. Focus is wool wool wool and layers layers layers to prepare for chilly rainy good times, but also bringing a few prime hand knits to show off. So, basically my normal clothes but more of them at once and topped off with a waterproof shell. Also a much higher proportion of black than in my day to day, but it’s just working with what I’ve got in rain gear and technical pants. I will have laundry access, so I can get away with fewer underthings and handkerchiefs than I would otherwise. All the more room for wool!
