Some people want a return to scheming, cocky Robert. But scheming Robert could lose his livelihood, the only job he has where he is his own boss. I think one of the draws of being a farmer, and running Emmerdale Farm, is because he knows he will struggle to get a job as an ex-con and running his own farm allows him to not have to worry about that. Also, a scheming Robert could risk prison again, the one thing he doesn’t want to happen. As he said last week, he just wants a quiet like and a scheming, cocky Robert goes against that right now. Along with having more sympathy and empathy, he seems to want to do things the correct way. He only buckled under pressure at the beginning of the year because he was trying to save Victoria from prison. He hated himself for what he did to Moira. Why would he risk any of his freedom and newfound happiness with Aaron to scheme against Joe? Remember in the past, most of Robert's schemes didn't work and blew up in his face.

Sometimes I wonder whether Robron is remembered with rose-tinted glasses. Lack of affection was prominent after Reunion 1.0 and Reunion 2.0 until we had the lead up to Proposal 1.0 and Proposal 2.0. After Reunion 1.0 and Reunion 2.0, they ran around a lot trying to deal with Liv. Important conversations sometimes happened offscreen. I also wonder how much of the discontent with current Robron is because of that gay hockey romance show and how expectations have suddenly changed. Because it seems like people are having a go at Robron for being Robron.

I actually like that Robert has changed significantly since how he started in 2014. He was already half way there when he handed himself in back in 2019. After nearly 6 years in the clink, it is bound to have an effect on anyone. He has lost his confidence and charm because he was left with nothing for those 5 and a bit years he was in prison.

I think with all the PR that the show have done about the Sugdens taking over Butler's/Emmerdale Farm it seems like they are classing Aaron as a Sugden. He doesn’t always have the support of his family and he regularly chooses Robert over them (which he should do and the rest of the Dingles would all choose their SO over their family). They have been known to disregard his feelings and also shut him out when he doesn't behave how they want him to behave. Taking all this isn't account, I actually want him to take the Sugden name. Also, there are way too many Dingles and not enough Sugdens. Aaron becoming a Sugden and taking the name makes more sense than Jacob becoming a Sugden.

I'm so glad you mentioned Vanessa and Mary. They have such good chemistry it would be a good setup. It could be some low stakes drama with Vanessa having that past with Rhona, and Mary with Suzy, but other than that they really like each other so I don't see why not.

It makes total sense to me and has been fairly obvious for a while now. It would solve the issue of having to bring a new character in. Obviously, Dr Todd isn't going to last for very long at all once the truth comes out about what she does to Charity.

There's been a lot of complaints about how important conversations are happening offscreen, and we are not being privy to them. However, this isn't new. We had it back in 2017. We didn't get to see Aaron say he would support whatever decision Robert made about the unborn baby. The fact of the matter is that they can't show every conversation that Robron have with each other despite us wanting to see them all.

What a turn around for Aaron and proof that he needed space and time to heal. He couldn’t even say the word "baby" when he was talking to her after he found out Rebecca was still pregnant. Fast forward to how much he loved and cared for Seb as a stepdad a year later.

One of my favourite scenes after the ONS reveal episode is in the episode after when they are talking in the pub toilets. It's pure angst and delicious all at the same time. Robert is desperate and will do anything to keep Aaron, but Aaron knows he's going to struggle with it. And the use of the mirror to see both their reactions at the same time was a great choice. In the midst of the hell year that was 2017, they looked hot with my favourite hair on both of them.

Robert couldn’t put on Aaron’s ring quicker than he did during the ONS reveal episode. He knew that the only place Aaron’s ring should be is on Aaron’s ring finger.

I actually think This Love by Taylor Swift should be Robron's wedding song. The lyrics are so them, especially from Aaron’s POV when Robert was incarcerated and Robert’s POV during the Big Break Up of 2017-2018.

Proudly and loudly: I bloody love 2026 Robron. I love that they are a strong unit that supports each other, that they are on the same page and are being open and honest with each other. There are no lies or secrets. I love that Aaron has been constantly running around doing whatever he can to protect the love of his life. I love that Robron have a home of their own now that is big enough for them to expand their family. I love that Aaron has consistently chosen Robert over the rest of his family. I love that Robron are still joint at the hip and do every together.

At this point, I just want to stay out of the tags completely, but I find myself going back into them out of boredom and habit. I hope one day something interests the Negative Ninnies and makes them feel some positivity and hope for Robron again because I feel like I am done with this place. I will continue to post up my rewatch thoughts, my song recommendations, and also my thoughts about 2026 Robron, but I don’t think I will continue engaging with other people in the main tag. Because it seems like the only thing people want to do is complain about current Robron and the missed opportunities that the show could have had with them.

I'm neither positive nor negative, but you can't even go against those who are negative, how someone can be positive or excited for the future with everything that comes out of the spoilers are bad ?? and it's not even just about Robron but about the show in general

I know. It is frustrating and I am getting to the point where I don't want to go in the tags anymore. It's all "Everything is the worst it has ever been and apparently the show is never going to get better." What frustrates me the most is that those that are positive are getting accused of gaslighting themselves. That in itself is insulting. But because the majority think it is negative, we have to put up with gatekeeping and little digs at us. We can't have our own opinion that goes against those fans that have been there from the beginning. I try to be positive because there is so much positivity in Robron on the show, but I feel like I am shouting into the void with it.

Emmerdale Farm is THE farm of the show. It's also a house to build a family in, a house to raise children in. A house to put down roots for their greatest ship. I think it is fabulous that Robron have been given then privilege of living in that house and working on that farm. They are, after all, Mr and Mr Emmerdale.

Out of all the possible stories you listed for Robron in your last post, which is the one you would say you would personally be most excited for?

Probably Wedding 3.0. I can’t wait to see what they are going to do for it and where and when it is going to be.

I'm just so fed up of seeing a lack of people excited about what is to come with Robron in the future. There's so much to be grateful and thankful for. There's so much to be excited about. We're getting Wedding 3.0 at some point. We're getting Seb back at some point. We're getting farm wars.
