biography
โ robyn was born at 8:08am on 13th april 1985 in jasper, tx, to frederick kennedy, a police officer, and his wife audrey, a high school maths teacher. she also has an older brother and older sister.
โ she was a very shy child, opting to play by herself most of the time and to sit in a quiet space to read a book. she also loved to watch cartoons and sit with her mother when she was watching her favourite shows in the evening.
โ her relationship with each of her family members was very tight knit, but she idolised her father. frederick was the townโs sheriff and wanted to set an example to his children about respect, consideration, and integrity. robyn took everything he said on board and decided from a young age that she wanted to follow in his footsteps.
โ despite her shyness, robyn had big dreams. she hated how her small texas town felt suffocating, how everyone knew everyone and their business, and how the humidity would exhaust her in the summer. she wanted to move away to a big city where you could pass people in the street and not know who they were and experience things the people in her town could only have imagined. she dreamed of los angeles, new york city, chicago- anywhere with magnificent skyscrapers and electric energy.
โ robyn was something of a teacherโs pet, or so she was told. she was bullied for being a โtry hardโ and a nerd, but even though the horrible comments hurt she had no choice but to brush them off as she had high grades to achieve if she wanted to get anywhere in life; if she wanted to become a detective and make a difference to the world. she excelled in every subject, studying extra hard for the ones she didnโt particularly like, and graduated at the top of her class.
โ her father was shot and killed as he was trying to stop an armed robber at the townโs liquor store and it devastated the family. robyn never got over his death and still carries the grief with her to this day. she wanted nothing more than to make her father proud and live the life he wanted her to have.
โ after high school, she moved to new york, staying with her brother whilst she attended john jay college of criminal justice where she excelled. armed with valuable knowledge, she then joined the nypd academy, which she found both incredibly difficult and incredibly rewarding. the physical training was more taxing than the theoretical, but robyn did her best anyway.
โ robyn met her husband at a midtown bar in 2012 and were married in 2015. they loved each other deeply, but both of their jobs got in the way. their frustrations and exhaustion was taken out on one another and after five years they got a divorce, which seemed to be the solution to their relationship problems. they got along better than ever and hardly ever squabbled; theyโre each otherโs most trusted person and seek out each otherโs counsel when they need it.
โ robyn got promoted to detective at 31 and still holds that rank. she now specialises in homicide investigations, but dabbles in other areas, too. she has decent experience in narcotics and surveillance, but finds the job most rewarding when she can solve murders and bring peace to the victimsโ families.
โ she still gives 110% in her work and is working towards another promotion. she hopes to one day become police chief. in the numerous years sheโs been in the nypd, robyn has worked with a variety of people on a variety of cases. thereโs never a boring day, although theyโre all long and sometimes robyn will stay at her desk until the late hours of the night.

โ robyn inherited her fatherโs watch when he died and either wears it or keeps it safe in her pocket at all times. itโs her lucky charm and reminds her of all her hard-work and what work she still has to do.
โ she wears contact lenses most of the time, but as soon as she comes home they come out and the glasses come on. she will always wear her glasses on her days off.
โ she can drink her colleagues under the table, which always surprises them. robyn prefers to drink gin and tonic, but can down whisky and shots just as easily. she doesnโt drink often, though, as she finds it clouds her judgment.
โ robyn was shot in the chest a few years ago and was close to losing her life. she used to be very self-conscious about her bullet wound scar and it was her ex-husband that made her realise it should be seen as a sign of strength rather than a weakness. now she doesnโt mind having it exposed and hopes it serves as a reminder to her colleagues in particular that anything could happen.
โ growing up, robynโs paternal grandfather insisted that he was related to the politically prominent kennedy family, but robyn never believed him. her sister, on the other hand, used to tell people at school she was related to them just for clout. to this day, no-one in the family is certain if thereโs any connection.
โ her guilty pleasure is sour patch kids and always has a stash of them in her desk drawer at work. she also loves to cook, but doesnโt get many chances as she works long hours and is then too tired on her days off. on special occasions, like her friendsโ birthdays, sheโll make an effort to cook something up.
