Here's an old draft from 2024 😭

Garroth thought of the day is how he probably knew close to nothing about how to survive on his own after fleeing O'khasis

He was rich, he was royalty, he didn't know how to cook or clean. His father would lock him in his room for getting the tiniest bit of mud on his nice clothes or trying to help the maids with dinner

I imagine post-leaving O'khasis but before coming to Phoenix Drop, Garroth was completely alone for weeks, sleeping on the ground and eating random berries (risking poisoning himself). He spent so long trying to figure things out himself and almost died in the process but refused to go back. He had his guard training and more money than he knew what to do with but couldn't cook a rabbit to save his life.

Maybe he found a caravan of people wandering the region and they saw how helpless he was and helped him out. He learned how to skin animals and properly cook them, he learned how to wash his own clothes, he learned what herbs had healing properties and how to sew and bandage a wound (and obviously rewarded them generously for their help) Garroth knew how to get his hands dirty and felt so immensely proud of himself for his independence

By the time he reached Phoenix Drop and rose to head guard status, Garroth was virtually unstoppable. He's considered heavily knowledgeable in almost anything you can imagine and was charming and kind on top of that. Not to mention his combat skills are as impressive as (if not better than) a Jury of Nine member.

All of his accomplishments are his own, his father has no credit for how amazing of a man Garroth turned out to be.
