Hello my Old heart | Jacob and Charlotte
"You know you're obligated to go, right? I'm gonna be there, and I don't want to be all by myself, besides, Jake... It'll be fun." The young blonde in the front of him begged once more to him. This was her fifteenth attempted today and Jacob was actually getting tired of saying no. Sighing, he lets his head hang down as a sign to let her know that she in fact won the battle. " Fine. I'll go. But only because you're gonna be there, which is pointless. We're not in college anymore, Kate. We shouldn't be having anymore f u n." He emphasizes the fun part. He's right, and she knows it. They're adults now. And it took five years to become adults, yet here they were, still acting like children.
"Eeeep!" Her body collides into his, arms wrapped around him so tightly it's hard for him to breath. "Okay, I get the point, you love me." Chuckled Jacob, as he embraced her back. "It's gonna be fun, you'll love it. I already texted your mother and she already has Emmett, so you don't have to waste time asking... Oh! And this mutual friend of ours, said something about wear something nice... So, I got you a leather jacket, nice dark blue button up, dark jeans, and your black boots. Y'know, the way you use to dress before...?" Before he and Charlotte broke up, before they left each other for good. He wanted to add, but they were having a great time. He didn't need to ruin it. "Got it, boss..." Mumbled Jacob as he pulled away from her. "Be there a Seven, right?" Nodding her head, fast, she answers, "or eight."
8p.m The rise of the party.
He shuts his car door ever so lightly, as Kate get's down. She's pretty, he can admit it, but. It's strange to think about being with someone else the way he was with Charlotte. Admittedly he had a few drunk nights with some girls, but they were nothing to him. Just a few drunk nights with a couple of girls... "I kind of hate you for this..." He mumbles to her as she tries to stand tall next to her.
There is a drink in his hand, his third one. He's not by himself, there is a pretty girl in front of him, going on and on about something he didn't even pay attention to. He was looking around, looking for Kate before this girl wanted to bring up sleeping together, then saying how drunk she was, or worse, how she wants to be with him. It may have been five years, but Jacob was still hurt, still broken. He's searching, and searching, and, there it goes. His heart drops to his stomach and his knees feel so weak he thinks he's about to fall. "Charlotte?" He mumbles so low to himself he almost wants to repeat it.
He doesn't want to make eye contact, he doesn't want to draw any attention to himself. "E-excuse..." He says, a hand on the girl's shoulder as he walks past her. Fuck. He thought Jacob stopped straight in his tracks, taking a deep breath before sighing a loud. "Jacob!" Screams Kate from behind, and it makes him turn fast. She sees what she's staring at and she gasps. "Jacob?' Her voice is softer now, a hand on his shoulder. "We can go..." Shaking his head, he turns to look at her. "No... No... I'll be fine... Let's... Let's just go outside..." His own voice was quiet, croaky as he turned around, his back facing the woman he loves. "I'm here..." Kate says quietly as she locks they arms and leads him outside.
