Web Series Launch Party: 5 Tips for Viral Domination
Social Media, at it’s core, is word-of-mouth, on speed. If you don’t know what the WORD is, for example, “what you’re standing for”, you will never build your brand or your audience, and have a definable point of view or “position” to come from. One of the most important times to own your branding is during your launch party. We #highlyrecommend creating a launch party in the real world anytime you are launching a serialized media project or product. Here are our top five strategies for your launch party:
1. Designate Official Party Hashtags and Display Accordingly
In ALL communications for your party (email, e-vites, all social medias, and ALL decorative displays) prominent hashtags should be featured! We like to use the rule of 3 hashtags for every event and to brand them as the Official Hashtags for the party, ie #digitalseries #broadcity #bclaunch
The Official Hashtags should be displayed on a physical board or monitor with a Clear call to action, ie: Please share your pics of tonights launch with our Official Hashtags: #digitalseries #broadcity #bclaunch
2. Create an Official Party Image with Clear to Call to Actions for all Social Media Accounts
Use 3rd Party Applications like: Instaquote ( http://blog.instaquoteapp.com/) and Instacollage (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/instacollage-collage-maker/id530957474?mt=8) to get the word out with a powerful image and call to action. See example below.
3. Create a Speed Round Social Media Moment
Before the main event has commenced, take a moment to get all attendees of your event to partake in social media. For example, plan a 3 minute Social Media Break during your party. Stop the action of the party and have someone verbally announce that people should post right now and use the official hashtags of the party.
Take pictures of all attendees during the event and post to the Facebook Fan Page. If time permits, FRIEND attendees right then and there on Facebook and start following them on twitter from your personal and business/series accounts.
4. Hire a Photo Booth
A photo booth can go a LONG way in building your brand for your show or product across the digi-sphere! Two of the favorite Photo Booth companies that we enjoy are:
http://www.snapyourself.com/ and http://www.theheadshottruck.com/
Pro Tip: Insert your branding in the lower thirds of all pictures with official company logo Have your hashtags visible in the lower thirds and have all the social media in which they can tag you directly.
5. Engage on All Social Media Activity
Go back and like, re-share, and comment on every post within all hashtags. We encourage people to regram, reblog, retweet, and share…go back and do #tbt 2-3 weeks after event to create more interest and to create a second viral effect.
If you plan properly, and implement these ideas consistently and strategically, over time you will build an amazing brand and digital footprint
