To say that Louisville is hipster is THE BIGGEST UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY. Each area of the city is aiming to be the most ‘hip’ new thing around. The people are southern in their carefree type of lifestyles- unlike Jersey- but their fashion and entertainment screams HIPSTER! 

When you ask someone “What is something that is true Kentucky? Like what are they known for?”, they will most always will reply with “FOOD!” This is most definitely the case. Food is everywhere. 

We can sarcastically say “oh! Kentucky Fried Chicken” but a true local will tell you to never go to a chain restaurant. There are SO MANY local cute spots, why would you want to waste your time on something bland like that. We are trying to only go out to eat once a week, so for our Sunday after church date, we picked “The Flea off of Market (street)” <--- get it ;)

Its a large commercial lot that is filled once a month with cute shops, homemade goods, crafts, thrift shops galore and food trucks. We opted the grilled cheese truck- delicious! But who could resist a doughnut for dessert??!

These ladies have a truck where you choose your own glaze and topping. Options include every cereal and candy you can imagine. We chose Peanut Butter glaze with Butterfingers--- the bowl was clean at the end! And while are trying to find a church to become connected to, we realized that the one we are visiting this Sunday has invited this doughnut truck to come over after service! Its a sign that we need to be there :)

|Here we are|

Here we are. My wife (Alice) and I just started the biggest, newest and scariest journey of our lives. We packed up all our things and moved ~800 miles away from the place I called home. We bid farewell to jersey and embraced our new future in Louisville, Kentucky. Why the move? Well, I have had a strong desire for many years to serve God in vocational ministry, and decided together with my wife that if I was going to be serious and do it I would have to prepare myself well. Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is where I will be getting my training. We stepped out in faith and have seen God work things out in an incredible way. I must admit that at first I did not think we would make the move (financial reasons mostly), but in less then a month we decided to move, found jobs, found an apartment and started to find our way towards where God would take us. My wife also played a huge role, she pushed me to trust God and live out my faith, I literally don't know where I would be with out here, maybe stuck in jersey wishing I would have the faith the trust God.
