I spent about a week, off and on, doing pen sketches for the 31 Day Homestuck Challenge! Now that they’re all done and it’s October and Andrew Hussie’s convoluted comic game is coming back, I’m gonna post one every day! If you don’t want to be spoiled for the comic or just don’t like Homestuck, blacklist “hsc” for the next four weeks. :) When I reach a group of ten entries in this challenge, I’ll post the pics on razzdoesthearts minus the commentary. :)

1) Fave Kid – pre-scratch

I really like all of the Beta kids, but John remains my favorite of them all. He starts off as pretty incompetent…and kind of stays that way, but in a manner which isn’t obnoxious. It always struck me that John was pretty aware that he’s a lame hero…and he’s fine with it! It’s a unique sort of protagonist that I find really refreshing. Besides that, he amuses me. The kid is just overall entertaining and a great representation of the dorkiest 13-year-old to ever live. He was also the first character we really got to know, but he’s not just a cypher for the reader, he’s his own character, and boy is it a fun one, even when he’s down. :)
