The fireworks at Sydney harbour commenced at 9.00pm, they were a crowd pleaser to keep people engaged and calm I guess. Many of the 1.6 million people had pitched a spot and been waiting since pre dawn. We left our mooring at 11.00pm and sailed out to the harbour in preparation for the midnight fireworks, the view of the opera house and bridge was perfect. The countdown began then the most amazing fireworks that I have ever seen outside of tv world. Today I have seen the most amazing horizon, the blue mountains and some of the well known indigenous species! I am now cream crackered and in need of a rest!!

Speeding away from circular quay, Sydney harbour. The city being prepared for New Year’s Eve. Its packed with people preparing for new year eve celebrations.

People are already camping out to get a spot to watch the fireworks it’s the afternoon of the 30th January 2015.

Getting ready for New Years at the Sydney harbour bridge, we have arranged a boat to watch the fireworks.

Having spent 10 days travelling Sri Lanka, and 26 hours we find ourselves in this iconic place. 26 hours! Probably would have taken 26 weeks in Victorian times.

Beki and I have arrived in Sydney nsw, we have had a nap, walked the city quickly and booked our excursions. Time for an hours rest then out to see some sights and eat. My mind has happily said yes bring on the Sri Lankan food from the past days, the flies and bugs crawling over it have not put me off, However My inner treatment and purification works are extremely unhappy with what it’s been fed the last few days and it evident in the obvious ways!! Been a few close calls!!

Despite the warmth and wonder of Sri Lanka it good to back in a more developed country.

Before leaving Sri Lanka, a visit to udawalawe national park was needed, open to jeep lots of these magnificent beasts!

Sleeping under net is absolutely essential, it's not just the flies and other winged beasts that want to be friends. There be spiders too!!

Bringing a fantastic end to Christmas Day, fantastic food and then in the gloomy lit main cabana four Sri Lankan dudes singing to us as the day comes to an end. Good night all, hope today has filled your hearts with warmth.

As England and within it finish their dinner and hopefully sit for a movie, Sri Lanka stirs as we start our evening meal, it's twenty minutes to eight and for starters a drink that has alcohol in it and other things blended together! A real life witches potion from the age old maude, the witch of the palms!

Christmas morning, no tv, no cooking, no presents, no worry of time management. Just a dot on a planet spinning round its axis waiting for whatever it decides.

Tonight's evening meal, primarily curry based, authentic and cooked by the workers for the staff and visitors alike I expect! King prawns, spicy and nice, cubed veggies, spicy and nice, Dahl, not so spicy but just as nice, beans and aubergine both spice and nice, with some rice,!not spicy but nice! I most certainly could get used to this. I don't like children (they can have lice) but I do like Sri Lankan cuisine it's full of spice!!😀

As the sun continued to set over this enchanting land I had the forethought to remain secreted within the line of palms, the pirate hoard are now on the beach, they have reggie. After carrying out unmentionable acts of barbarism on him he was discarded to a watery end washed out to sea. A camp fire has been lit and sounds of making merry on rum can be heard above the chipmunks, crickets and tree frogs. The only noise louder is the ever present thunder of waves breaking on the shore. I will need to retreat deeper in to the jungle to feed and drink from the waterfall, but keep a watchful eye on my unwelcome visitors.
