> On your knees, in front of Gavin, is the last place you expected to be. In ANY context.
> On your knees, in front of Gavin, bleeding some sort of lava, is even worse. You can't speak anymore, your words are some sort of terrible gibberish. Everything begins to light up, with fire. Your skin, your nose, your eyes. Your cut flares with such pain you cry out, but not with tears. With more of that lava liquid.
I-I thi-i...-ink I'm dying, Gaviii..iin.
> You fall completely down, onto your stomach. Your head throws upwards and your face is contorted to express obvious pain. Sobbing ugly words into the carpet, you crawl towards Gavin. And then the light fades from your eyes. Literally.
> Your eyes go from dark pink, to completely black. Every aspect of them is black. And everything goes black.
Ray couldn't really find it in himself to leave Gavin's land. It was comfortable, and he had access to a close friend. That was always nice. But then, things slowly spiraled down.
The cut on his back never healed.
His mood was sour for days on end.
He couldn't sleep.
He was getting paralyzing headaches.
"Take off your bandages," Gavin had suggested. "Let's see what's really going on here."
Why did he ever listen to Gavin?
Ray woke up that day with a really bad headache. Gavin came to his aid and pressed a hand against his forehead. "You're burning up, Ray. Maybe the cut's infected."
"How would it be infected?" Ray pulled his lips together and suppressed a moan of pain. "It's been wrapped up ever since I got it."
Gavin just shrugged and tossed him some new bandage. Ray sat up, and slowly peeled off his sweat-stained shirt. Turning around and bending his back, he winced but shakily turned his head, looking in the mirror at the old bandages. They look worn out, but otherwise look fine. There's no excessive bleeding or anything that should be worried about. Ray slowly opens the bandaging and winces every time it loosens around his torso.
Once the bandages are off, the skin around the cut and the cut itself begins to burn. Ray's stomach burns.
Ray's throat burns, and he runs to Gavin's toilet.
He hurls, mouth and throat burning from doing so. He looks down into the toilet to find orange and red vomit, that radiates heat. This isn't vomit, it's something else. He reaches around his body to touch his cut, and finds that it's expelling the same things. The.. the liquid burns his hand, and he hurries to run to Gavin.
Taking stumbled steps, more of the red-hot liquid leaves his mouth. He tries to hold it in, but it begins coming out of his nose. It stops flowing enough for him to talk.
"Ga - Gavin, I need help," Ray begins and it hurts to speak. Taking another step, he collapses to his knees. "It's i-infected, definitely."
