Her eyes flickered to him as he seemed to be at some crossroads of sharing things with her. It was no skin off her back either way, but as one of the few remaining men that she tolerated she didn’t mind offering her assistance. He didn’t exactly know the full range of her skill set after all. She smirked to herself as she finished dealing out the cards. “I like the sound of that.”
Rose leaned against the bar, pushing his hand of cards over to him before picking up her own pair to study. “This should be fun then. Tell me you’ve at least played poker before, yes?” she raised a brow as she looked over the top of her hand at him. “Every card you draw is a drink. And loser loses a piece of clothing.”
“Poker? Sure.” Well, maybe most of his experience was watching tournaments on late night TV, but it was enough. “Rules seem simple enough. You dealing?” Rok interlaced his fingers before crackling his knuckles, making a show of warming his hands up before leaning forward on the table. “Is that all that’s at stake, clothing? I can deal with that.”
As he watched Rose shuffle the deck of cards, he watched her face intently. She was one of few people he trusted, but was the secret of his identity something he was willing to entrust her with? “How’s it going, not playing hero anymore? Are you just neutral, or are you more on the dark side? Inquiring minds want to know, it’s been a bit since that night, curious where your head is at.”
