Entangled Weave
Rolan kissed along her neck and shoulder. His arms holding her firmly to him. Her back to his front. They lay on the softest mats they could muster in the moment when their intimacy began and now the lay in each other's embrace. Their breaths audible to each others ears. Tav could hear his heart beating loudly. The smile on his lips the brightest she had seen thus far. This was to most relaxed he ever looked as well. Tav studied his face as he continued to kiss along her shoulder until he met her gaze. Placing a hand to his cheek Tav urged him to her lips. The kiss was sweet and gentle. More gentle than she would have expected from Rolan.
"Didn't you tell me not to be greedy?"
Rolan smiled against her lips, kissing her once more before removing himself with a reluctant groan,
"Yes, you. Not I."
Playfully Tav swatted at his arm and Rolan caught her hand, planting a kiss on her wrist. His head prodded at her still and Tav felt her hips begin to push towards him. Rolan had filled her completely once already but still something in her wanted more. In his eyes Tav saw that he wanted the same. For this moment, this night to not end. To not part ways with uncertainty of meeting again once more. This night had been more than satiating desires. This was a declaration as well as a possible goodbye.
Agreement in their eyes, Rolan placed a hand onto her hip as he moved himself forward and into her once more. Shortly after the silence wards surrounding her tent was put to the test once more as they both did not withhold or filter each moan. In her ear Rolan declared that he was hers so long as she would have him. In her ear Rolan moaned her name. Tav's moans and pleas of satisfaction filled his hearing. Tender holdings. Passionate kisses. His tail wrapped around her thigh as he plunged into her while gazing into her eyes. Sweet kisses. Then the final words that made their hearts jump as he filled her once more.
Tav thought of Rolan each day, wishing for his presence every waking moment. Through the fights for her newfound friends and her own she wondered how he faired on the road to Baldur's Gate. She hoped and even prayed that he and all the others made it safe. In the weeks after that it took to reach the gates Tav had focused more on the battle ahead. Baldur's Gate was not the safety they all had hoped. With no sign of him or his siblings in the outer city walls, Tav felt hope but also worry. The closer her group got to the gates of the city the more that the presence of the cult was abhorrent. To her pleasure and dismay upon reuniting with Rolan, he would not meet her eye as the bruises that marred his beautiful red skin were blatant. The trash wizard was dealt with in urgency and still Rolan did not fully look Tav in the eye despite his newfound freedom. Still, Rolan swore his allegiance to fight along her and a few nights passed before Tav dared to visit him. Part of Tav fearing that he would turn her away.
Rolan had not turned her away but shame was written on his face each time her thought she was not looking. Tav had tried to comfort Rolan. Reaching to hold his hand only for him to flinch slightly at the movement, her hands falling to her sides. The hurt was immediate but Rolan assured Tav that his reaction had nothing to do with her. Tav struggled to believe him. After his words. After his touch. To have him behave so cold despite the kindness in his words. It was not the reunion they had hoped for at all. The cult and arrogance of those within the city had driven a wedge that Rolan was not ready to face. His time in the city had not been as he expected at all. After all his boasting and compliments to his mentor, the sheer embarrassment and humility worsened when he saw her walk through the doors to the tower. Every day memories of their time together brightened Rolan's day. Yet, there was hesitance when Tav now stood before him. His apologies could not begin to make up for the look of dejection on Tav's face which imprinted in his mind. Rolan wanted to hold her hand. He wanted to hold her in his arms and pretend that the world around them was sane and safe. However, with each passing day Rolan noticed the cult as well. That was more urgent than his wants and his trauma.
As the city rebuilt after the great battle Rolan and Tav were busy aiding those displaced and in need. Their paths had not crossed in weeks before meeting again. Rolan spotted her first, her skin held a sheen that seemed more lively than before and her clothes hung loose around her but unnaturally so that even he noticed the barely discernible protrusion. The sound of a child's voice struck him from his starring as a small girl tugged at his over cloak. His attention turned back to the needs of those affected by the cult once more but Tav was forever in his mind.
Tav saw him kneeling to speak with a child who looked to be fighting tears. She was relieved to see that all his bruises had healed. Rolan looked healthier than when she last saw him. She hoped that he was in a better state to speak to her. Tav felt some urgency now more than before. Her newfound friends had found their homes all in different parts of the city, Gale making plans to soon return to Waterdeep once matters settled in the city more. Surprisingly the closest in proximity to her was Astarion and Jaheira. Both of whom had sussed out her pregnancy before she had even realized. Both had waited till after the defeat of the brain to tell her. Tav was unsure of what to do, she had not fully decided on where she was to live, let alone if she was going to stay in the city. All Tav could do was hope that Rolan would receive her better than the last time they were alone.
Once the crowd around the tower dissipated the sky began changing colors with the leave of the sun, Tav came to his rooms. Worry weighed down her belly as she spotted him reading in seeming peace. When the portal behind her closed he looked and promptly sat down his book. He strode to Tav with a look of pleading,
"Words cannot express or excuse my behavior. I only want for you and I only want for you to know that my feelings have not changed. Never would they change."
His voice trailed off with a tremble and in his eyes she saw the man that was that night in the inn. Rolan took her hand, pulling Tav closer to him before placing her hand onto his chest where she felt his heart beat. He took a breath, looking into her eyes as he place his other hand to her belly. The slight swell he caressed in his hand brought a smile to his face. Tav let out a nervous breath,
"How did you know?"
Rolan leaned his forehead against hers, savoring the closeness between them,
"I saw you earlier today. My apologies will not end. There has been too much time lost between us."
With a kiss Tav began to cry into his embrace. He too shed a tear, holding her close but not as tightly,
"I am so sorry for-"
"You do not owe me an apology, my love. What happened here was beyond your control. I am grateful for all your help. I am…was greatly disappointed in myself. That you saw me in such a state."
His fingers trailed up and down her sides as the gazed at one another.
"I want a life with you, wherever that may be. Our home will be safe for you and our child, I will make it so."
A kiss so gentle Tav barely felt it on her cheek. Rolan began to kiss her face, cheek to chin.
"I will make it so as well."
Rolan kneeled downward, wrapping his arms behind Tav's knees before hoisting her up, her legs wrapping around his waist and kissing each other with eager passion. Clawing at each others clothes until they were both bare, Rolan laid Tav onto his soft bed. Taking her completely as his once more. The feel of him within her after so long felt like she was whole again. Rolan lay his hips down on hers, his thrusts small but impactful as he felt surrounded by her embrace. Her thighs tightened around him and Rolan groaned at how warm she felt. Tav held him to her as best as she could despite her building orgasm which she fought her urge to roll her hips. She had missed Rolan so much. Missed the feel of him. His scent. His voice. His gaze. His lips. His tongue. His arms. His grasp.
Tav came with a moan-like cry with tears in her eyes that made him slow his pace until she urge him to keep going. Ever the gentleman, Rolan complied. His own peak soon on the horizon. She shivered and trembled all around him. From her moans to her arms. From her thighs to the quivering around his cock, milking his precum from him. Rolan struggled to maintain his composure as his hips began to move to their own harsher rhythm, pounding into Tav with long hard thrusts as she held him firmly to her. There was pleading in their eyes that was resolved with a kiss of longing and delight. Tav's fingers found his hair. Entangling between her fingers, her other hand nearly clawing at his back as she was overcome with another orgasm that left her moaning and arching her back , pushing herself closer against him. Rolan's grip on her became nearly painful as he then erupted within her. Each thrust with each shot of cum filling her, he moaned. Loudly. Their moans echoing one another as their bodies continued to move in union.
Rolan lay atop Tav, careful to not hold all his weight onto her. Holding each other as they kissed. Never seeming to get physically close enough. As their hearts calmed and their minds began to hold clearer thoughts they simply held one another side by side. Look at each other's newfound scars. Rolan brought her hand to his lips, kissing her palm,
"I suppose preparation should begin soon. There is plenty of space here for our child but it is not so homely."
"My home has more than enough rooms and I am sure that Astarion would allow us half of his castle, but I am sure you may have reservation on living with vampire spawn. But I propose we could have rooms both here and our house as well to share. Should any other great threat loom, this tower could be out first safe haven."
As the city near complete rebuilding, Tav and Rolan welcomed their child into the world. Over the years, dangers would come and go along with more children. Their daughters and son had some of the most experienced teachers in magic and plenty of aunts and uncles who would visit over the years, happy to reconnect with Tav and Rolan from time to time. As the couple aged with time they had homes all across Faerun. Plenty of retreats for privacy.
Even after decades they entangled with the same vigor as their first night. As they lay abed with the cool air of the night breezing across their skin, Rolan held onto his wife with the same love that never faded. Tav held onto Rolan, embracing all of him that she could. Their family had grown and spread themselves to their careers. The couple had succeeded in their business and life in ways they had never dreamt of expecting. Now, they were on their own for the first time in so long it was difficult for them to keep any clothes on. The love and their passion for one another everlasting. Rolan still kissed her shoulders and hands whist they lay cuddling. He still teased her for more. Tav still held him tenderly. She still welcomed all of his attention.
"Perhaps one more child would not hurt…."
