She gave a small smile. “You think I’m strong enough?” She asked almost in a whisper. “This would be my first mission without my parents to guide me, I don’t want to let them down.”

Nick fury then entered the room with a big file in his hand. He sat down at desk. “So here’s the mission” he began.

Bucky chuckled a little holding her close until she let go. “Well kid I doubt that but I appreciate it.” He said with a soft huff. He turned and his smile faded. He tensed seeing Nick Fury. He still wasn’t on the best of terms with him after unknowingly trying to murder him. He looked at the file his fingers tapping slightly nervous at his side.

Nick fury looked to bucky displeasingly. He still wasn’t the biggest fan of bucky. He sat down and and opened the file, he looked toward Amy for a moment then back to bucky. “Agent Rogers has gone missing.” Nick fury began. “He had a mission with shield yesterday and never showed up for briefing. That’s not like him he is usually annoyingly early or right on time. I sent agent Hill to his apartment to see what was going on with him. When she entered the apartment the home was destroyed broken furtinure, cracked windows and blood all over the floor.”

“There has to be some kind of clues to where he is.” Amy yelled. “I mean who ever attacked him had to have left something behind!” She tried to hold back her tears but she couldn’t help it. Amy began to cry, as she grasped her father’s military dog tag she wore. She didn’t want to lose him again.

“There was nothing. We have no leads, Agent Carter.” Fury spoke. “You two are the ones closest to him, you care about him the most. I figured if anyone would find him it would be the two if you.”

Bucky, to his credit, didn’t back down from the look. His gaze however welled with slight shame. He saw the file and reached out a hand to take the file. His jaw went slack and he let slip a breath at Fury’s words. “He’s-“ he cut himself off shaking his head. He took a deep breath calming himself. One of them had to stay composed. “None? Okay. We’ll find him.” He said taking the file flipping through it. He glanced over at her taking her hand for a moment squeezing lightly. “We will find him. Take a deep breath.”

Amy took a deep breathe, but her mind still raced. She thought of every possible out come and most of them didn’t end well. Her hands shook and she could feel her heart pounding.

She had only knew her father for a short time and just starting to bond with him. She had finally gotten when she always dreamed of having, a father. one she could look up to, tell anything, learn from, and find friend in.

She was raised in 1950 by her mother and amy was raised to believe Steve had died. When Amy hit adolescences she gained the ability to time travel and unintentionally traveled to the year 2019. That’s were she met her father for the first time. She had always idolized him from peggys stories of him and the newsreels she used to watch over and over. When Amy met him she already loved him. He was an American hero, a gentlemen, a highly intellent man, and a savior to the people. How could she not be so proud to call him her father?

Now he could very well be dead or brainwashed or something worse.

Amy stood up, trying to hold back tears.

“I-I need some air.” She spoke. She then went out into the hallway and broke down crying. She slumped onto the floor, rubbing her thumb over the military dog tag.

She usually wasn’t like this, her mother taught her better than to be some emotional mess or to show weakness in the face of men. ‘Men see us as weak already,’ Peggy would tell her. ‘Don’t give them the satisfaction of thinking they are right.’

Bucky knew this feeling had felt it way too often for his liking though this time it was flipped. Steve was the one in danger, and that, he didn't like one bit. But even with all that he felt confident. He knew his friend and he would be able to find him. He could pay Steve back for all he had done for him by finding him. He turned to face Amy opening his mouth to speak when she left. He sighedbaoftlt thinking it better to give her a moment. She was strong and he knew it. He flipped through the file biting his lip his own dog tags had gone missing but after Steve had gotten a drawing of them. When they were both back Steve had given him a gift of his newly recreated dog tags despite the memories that the sight held he still loved them. His hand ran over the letters one side with his name Steves on the other. He ran a hand through his hair. ”ill find him.”

“Are you going to be okay, agent carter?” Fury remarked, not showing much simpathy for her. “If you can’t handle it, I will assign someone else to work on this mission with agent barnes.”

“No, I can do this, sir.” She answered firmly.

Fury didn’t seem convinced. “We can’t afford emotions to get in the way.”

Bucky was in his own head his mind blocking out everything and everyone around him. It took him back in time to a cold night long ago. ”Hey jerk?” he remembered Steve saying gathering his attention. ”Yeah punk?” he turned with a grin. It had been a special day for Steve. Bucky had gathered enough money to get Steve a new pair of pencils. He blinked back to reality his brows narrowing as an empty hole lingered in his chest. Steves absence. ”Brief agent Romanoff, she could be an asset to this mission. She’s one of his friends and we work well together. The three of us can definitely find him.”

Nick fury nodded considering buckys idea. “Sounds like plan. I will brief her later on the mission. For now I want you two to take another look at the apartment.”

He stood up and walked out the door, only Amy and Bucky left in the room.

He sat down and and opened the file, he looked toward Amy for a moment then back to bucky. “Agent Rogers has gone missing.” Nick fury began. “He had a mission with shield yesterday and never showed up for briefing. That’s not like him he is usually annoyingly early or right on time. I sent agent Hill to his apartment to see what was going on with him. When she entered the apartment the home was destroyed broken furtinure, cracked windows and blood all over the floor.”

“There has to be some kind of clues to where he is.” Amy yelled. “I mean who ever attacked him had to have left something behind!” She tried to hold back her tears but she couldn’t help it. Amy began to cry, as she grasped her father’s military dog tag she wore. She didn’t want to lose him again.

“There was nothing. We have no leads, Agent Carter.” Fury spoke. “You two are the ones closest to him, you care about him the most. I figured if anyone would find him it would be the two if you.”

Bucky, to his credit, didn’t back down from the look. His gaze however welled with slight shame. He saw the file and reached out a hand to take the file. His jaw went slack and he let slip a breath at Fury’s words. “He’s-“ he cut himself off shaking his head. He took a deep breath calming himself. One of them had to stay composed. “None? Okay. We’ll find him.” He said taking the file flipping through it. He glanced over at her taking her hand for a moment squeezing lightly. “We will find him. Take a deep breath.”
