He catches Gregory without a moment's hesitation, instinctively lifting and pressing the boy closer to his chest. It was becoming routinely familiar.

"Hello, Gregory!" Freddy greets punctually, but not unkindly, his tone was cheery despite his strange doe-eyed stare. "What brings you here in my arms today?"

“nothing particular,” he informs, chin resting against his chest to peer up at him, eyes still crinkling with a smile. “i just missed you. i thought maybe i could scare you, y’know? boo! your friends do it to me all the time, so i thought maybe i’d do it back. i guess it didn’t work. it became more of a...hug attack.”

Freddy’s internal fans may have malfunctioned, he felt his chest captivity begin to heat up. There was something about Gregory sending him that look, and that it was Gregory sending him that look, which sent this happy buffer that delayed his response. “My programming reassures that any attacks are to be seen and solved as quickly as possible, however, I did not expect to see you. It was a pleasant surprise.” 

His eyelids dropped, becoming half-lidded, complimenting his soft voice. “I missed you too.”
