Looking for Info, Fire Survivor!

So, the box WAS destroyed in the fire, but I have actually come across the original paperwork after searching for it!! How much does this affect pricing?!? Originally sold for $650 in 1980!

Hey all,

This is my first post and I am searching for information on this 1675 GMT (serial 521****, has it as a 1978) I was gifted and then got working. The watch was used by a private pilot as his everyday tool watch and then his house burned down about 20 years ago.

Two years ago when I got a hold of the watch, I was told it was “not worth repairing”. When I took it home I tried winding it and could hear the movement inside!

Long story short, I took it in and got her working again! It has its original band & case that have never been polished (all links). The dial & movement are also original with one of the springs having been replaced. I have the original hands, but I did place authentic vintage hands in it. The bezel and insert did not survive and I wasn’t a huge fan of the Pepsi look so I did put an aftermarket insert and bezel on it to complete the watch.

What is everyone’s thoughts on this piece & also the value of something like this? I am considering parting ways with it. Because of the fire, there are no box or papers.
