"I’m here with you, aren’t I?" she teased, hoping he would take the comment the way she had intended, but her cheeks flushed at the possibility of that not being the case. Her smile turned apologetic as she properly pondered his question, biting her lip. "I guess that depends," she admitted honestly. "Not always, no. I’d like to think I don’t give into peer pressure, it’s..well, it’s one of the things I pride myself on, actually. But I think there’s also a difference between that and someone asking something of you and you doing it despite maybe not wanting to—like chores or staying back after class to help someone with something. You might not necessarily want to or have the time for it, but you do so for different reasons and—" she paused, the red hue covering her cheeks darkening, though for different reasons this time. "You were probably expecting a simple yes or no."
