emsquincy:
Emma just smiled softly and gave a tiny shrug. “I do believe that this town would be a better place if we helped each other out once and awhile.” She sounded like a recording, it was almost like her mother had just reached down her throat and replaced her vocal cords. With that, Emma just squeezed her eyes shut and tilted her head. “That sounded a little too Barney and Friends for my liking, I apologise.” Cracking one eye open, she gazed at Romeo. “I’m simply assuming you were people watching, which is fine. I do that too.”
“Well, you’re not wrong about that at all. The world would be better if we all helped each other out more.” Although it didn’t seem like he was that kind of person, Romeo liked for people to be okay. He didn’t go out of his way to make sure of it, but if he helped in any way, it made him feel good about himself. “Hey, Barney and Friends was the shit, alright? Don’t sleep on Barney,” he joked. “Yeah, I guess you could say I was people watching. More like town watching though. It’s a small town, but I swear I just can’t get used to being back here.” He couldn’t say he missed it that much. New York definitely had more to offer than Elkridge Hollow. Yet here he was.
