you've been there for a while and I don't really know what to say should I address you anyway? maybe i'll joke and say i'm sorry sir, but what's your name? or is that cruel of me? you see nothing seems cruel after all you've done to me so what should I call you no name will make you disappear because i've got your scars on my heart and voices whispering into my ear your name your name was all I knew my mouth forms the word but I can't make a sound I wish I was the one who had disappeared now

Burning Roses

too busy with your roses to pay attention to a fire when I warned you that she had thorns baby you just turned away so now you've got pins in you you're yelling from the pain honey it's okay because i'll just light a flame take in that smell of burning roses it'll all be okay cause now darling you've got me you don't need her anyway

Stare into her looking glass eyes Know that you can fall so deeply into them without fear Learn how close you can hold her Feel her heartbeat siding with yours Tell her how beautiful she is if you truly cherish her let her know and you will Always have someone on your side See her soul through her eyes everything is magnified

This is our Independence Day Where we won back our freedom From those who chose to take it Blindly we offer up our own hatred Tell fellow Americans To go back home It’s as much their country As our own

My mother's laugh is the warmest sound I know It somehow manages to communicate her beauty her wit her humor her kindness all at once

Glass Insurance

Hearts, you see are fragile and are prone to breaking. Although they are not made of glass, they shatter if one is not careful, or considerate, or thoughtful, they can break in two. Hearts cost a lot more than a sorry to fix.

She Won't Forgive

Calm footsteps whisper her name from down the halls that they filled to the brim with her pain. The words scribed onto the walls ignored the crimes spoken in those calls that she received late at night while they seethed her name into the phone. She was not even safe at home. They miss her now. No one noticed her frown. or the words in the halls or in those calls and on the phone. They say they didn't know. So they put up posters in the halls and everyone ignores the calls and the messages on her phone. How was she not safe at home?

Politician

You cannot hold one in contempt today then praise their sins tomorrow. Because it's truly like they say; you must reap what you sew into the ground buried with your lies washed away with time only to be adored and adorned like diamonds in the eyes of the people that you serve. You turn tables and show no cards to the people in which you cling for your success. Behind the eyes lies something dark but no one cares about it yet. in years they will shout your name with malice; no longer with pride, our childhood dreams destroyed, as we watched while our mothers cried. You took away our rights it's too bad you couldn't crush our might Because after we travail, and all we have to lose is gone, what else can we do but prevail, and live on?

When we first met you said you loved me and I ran into your arms. When you hit me You had such anger in your eyes I had tears in mine Every time, you apologized I fell for your charms, I will no longer be a victim to your will Can god ever forgive you?

Liar

You promised me that you wouldn't die, so I fell asleep by your hospital bedside, When I awoke I realized that you weren't going to open your eyes and so I couldn't help but begin to cry, because you lied.

Icarus

They made her feel angry sad upset mad whatever you want to call it she was not okay. She could not step out into the light of day without bursting into tears because Icarus flew too close to the sun. Her wings were gone she was disgraced an angel who had lost her place in heaven. Had been thrown into a hell on earth made to endure the birth of nations while she watched the people fall. From heaven she came. To her, it was no longer the place of fame it was only the place of pain. She tried so hard to fly away She was too far when they pulled her chain She was a dog. She barked. and bit. and saw. then, ran. She began to cry today as she saw the sun and was reminded of her place, she was Icarus, who flew too close to the sun.
