Ghost Tiger (Santa Barbara, CA) The sound of Ghost Tiger is a mix of '60s girl groups, classical composition and African rhythmic influences with soulful vocals and spacious sounds that culminate in an invigorating approach to indie rock. The band released their debut EP Some Friends Feel Like Family January 13th, 2015 and is heading up the West coast on a winter tour.
Ghost Tiger performs at 9p with Daydream Machine x Houndstooth.
Houndstooth writes electric, if their songs were pictures, they’d be William Eggleston photos - overheard stories in kodachrome speaking of sweetness and tragedy.
Houndstooth performs at Rontoms tonight with Daydream Machine x Ghost Tiger.
Daydream Machine (Portland, OR) Daydream Machine combines the lush sounds of shoegaze and neo-psychedelia with the jutting angles and dance beats of post-punk. Layers of guitars, vocals, flute and keyboards shimmer above the driving drumbeat. The results, like magic in fairy tales and Fantasia are unpredictable.
Daydream Machine performs tonight at Rontoms with Houndstooth x Ghost Tiger.
San Francisco's Li Xi is a band mining the past for sounds from the future. They use all the elements of retro pop—warm, fuzzy guitars, analog synth leads, infectious rhythms, vocal hooks for days—to create sounds you’ve only heard in your dreams of sunlit and stormy days to come.
Li Xi plays Rontoms with Tender Age and Roselit Bone (roselitbone) tonight (1/18) at 8:30pm. No cover.
Fringe Class kicks off a night of electronic dance and pop this Sunday at 8:30pm with Brakemouth (record release) and Small Skies!
Rontoms Sunday Sessions presents ethereal Italian rock trio Be Forest. with Portland's own Ghost to Falco. 8:30p (music at 9:30p) / no cover
Download music from this week's Sunday Session headliner Ghost to Falco for a limited time on Bandcamp and catch them this Sunday at Rontoms with Italian band Be Forest.

Catch the LA band with hints of VU this Sunday at Rontoms with Portland’s favorite psych trio Wooden Indian Burial Ground. 9p / no cover
‘Floating (Demo)’ by The Tamed West The Tamed West is a fantastic underground Portland band came out of nowhere (as they often do). Live, they go for that uber-saturated tone that you get from turning EVERYTHING UP. They need to play bigger rooms pronto and I’m sure they will.
The Tamed West play Rontoms Sunday Sessions (rontoms) on October 10th with Elephant 6 Collective alums The Minders. 9pm, no cover.

"It’s impossible to feel shitty when listening to Dana Buoy’s track "Preacher". Fresh off a Summer tour with Sylvan Esso and releasing a new EP, the band is going to be a delight this Sunday at Rontoms with special guests Carroll (from Minneapolis) and Portland’s Just Lions. 8p, no cover.
This is the first single off of the unreleased self-titled debut LP of Minneapolis band Carroll. Carroll plays Rontoms Sunday Sessions with Dana Buoy and Just Lions on October 5th at 8pm. No cover.
Minneapolis’ Carroll (two R’s, two L’s) was born in late 2011 when frontman Brian Hurlow started composing melancholic pop songs that caught the ear of college classmate and drummer Charlie Rudoy. The lifelong musicians clicked and moved in together to a house on Carroll Avenue, coining the psychedelic, shoegazey-pop band’s name. After guitarist Max Kulicke and bassist Charles McClung came on board for the live show, Carroll started turning heads.
Since the release of their Needs EP, they’ve become a mainstay on The Current, the Twin Cities’s triple A NPR affiliate station, and were named Best New Band by the two biggest local arts publications. In February of 2014, the band escaped the frigid Minnesota winter to Philly’s Miner Street Recordings where they cut their debut full-length in 17 days with the expertise of engineer Jonathan Low, who’s produced albums for the National, (Mr.) Twin Sister, and Local Natives. With Brian’s subdued yet distinct vocals accompanied by punctual drums and alluring riff vignettes, Carroll’s self-titled debut will leave you bewitched.
Carroll has opened for bands like Dr. Dog, Pure Bathing Culture, Gardens & Villa, Electric Six and many more. Carroll embarks on a national tour this October in support of the release of their full-length debut ending with showcases at the CMJ Festival in New York City.
Tonight at Rontoms we have a bill featuring Seattle’s Kingdom of the Holy Sun opening for The Upsidedown.
Guido Anselmi started Kingdom of the Holy Sun, fusing the sounds of such 60’s bands as the Seeds, The Monks and Syd Barrett, with influences from such contemporaries as Black Angels and Brian Jonestown Massacre, with the intent of carving out their own niche in the new emerging neo-psychedelia movement. To date, KOTHS has released 4 albums and 3 EPs. Recently their song Thirteen Eyes was featured as KEXP’s Song of the Day and personally selected by DJ John Richards for the radio station’s podcast series Music That Matters.
