Rooney’s arm had luckily healed up and even was able to get his cast removed. To celebrate he decided to call Rosalind and ask her if she wanted to go out. He took out his phone and debated on whether to ask her over the phone or in person, Of course the latter won out, besides he figured he could surprise her that way. He gave her dorm a gentle knock and waited for her to answer. “Well hello there love.” he greeted her, holding up his arm so she could see it. “Notice anything different?” he asked.

A couple of tears left her eyes as he caressed her cheek. She leaned into his hand pondering over his words, and she shook her head. She carefully laid down next to him and wrapped her arms around him. “Is this okay? I’m not hurting you, am I?” She asked looking up at him.

Rooney relaxed once he felt her close to, a smile gently found it’s way onto his lips.”Of course it is, darling.” he said, his voice nearly a whisper. There was something about her being so close to him that made him feel, oddly at ease.

Rosalind had a few cuts but nothing too major. Still, she made sure to head to the hospital once she heard Rooney was in the hospital. She gave him a small smile and kissed his cheek. “Are you okay?” She gently placed a hand on his broken arm and frowned. “I’m sorry this happened to you… We shouldn’t have gone to the dance… I should’ve said no when you asked me to go then you wouldn’t be lying here hurt.” She pressed her lips together to stop the tears from falling. “Um, I brought you these.” She showed him the stuffed white bear and some chocolate.

If it had been anyone else he would have been annoyed by their presence but since it was Rosalind he wasn’t bothered by it at all. “Course I am, love. Broken arms not going to keep me down.” he promised her. Quickly Rooney made a face when he saw her begin to get emotional. He didn’t want her feeling bad, not on account of him. “Darling, you don’t need to feel bad. It’s not your fault.” he said reaching up to gently caress her cheek. “Is there anything that I could say to make you feel better?’ he asked.

Rooney had felt restless. He was stuck at the hospital which he had quiet frankly found pointless. He had a couple of injuries but the worst of it had been a broken arm. His father had broken his arm in his drunken state more than once so it wasn’t that he was bothered by it anymore, now it just felt like a major inconvenience. It seemed as though nothing was going to cure hos rotten mood, that was until he spotted a familiar blonde walk through the door. “Well, hello there darling! Fancy seeing you here.” he teased with a chuckle.

She nodded her head and paused for a moment. “I just need to grab my purse.” She quickly moved to grab her black, flowery clutch and paused in the doorframe again. “Um… Is it okay if I hold your hand?” She asked being a bit shy. Her nerves were coming back a bit as she remembered that he was her date.

As she turned to get her purse Rooney revealed the flowers he had been concealing behind his back. “I got these for you.” he told her with a smirk. He chuckled at the question and nodded, “Of course, wouldn’t mind at all.” he promised.

Rosalind was pacing the room nervously as she waited for Rooney to pick her up. This would be her first dance ever where she had a date… Actually, would this be considered her first date ever? She shook her head quickly at that thought. She was already nervous enough as it was. She took a deep breath as she heard Stanley the ladybug talk to her. “You’re right. I’m getting worked up for no reason. I just need to relax and have fun.” She jumped a bit as she heard the knock on the door and went to answer it. Seeing Rooney was enough to wash her nervousness away, and she grinned. “Hi, Rooney.”

Rooney didn’t consider himself much of a formal person so instead of going out and getting a suit he wore a dress shirt with a vest, a tie and a nice leather jacket. On his way over to pick her up he also swung by the florist to get her a bouquet of flowers. He gave her door a knock and waited, holding the flowers behind his back. Once the door had swung open he smiled. “Hey there gorgeous, you ready?” he asked.
