“Prospective is wonderful” It is a rare thing to find an honest and commendable adaptation of a book into movies/series. “Anne with an E” is indeed one of those rarities. I was scared to watch the series as that book is so special to me and I feared the inevitable disappointment that often comes with these adaptations. From the very first episode I was proven wrong. The lead actress portrays Anne's character with such an ease that you cannot imagine her to be any other way. The background score also adds another layer that the book cannot. It was particularly nice to know that the story still appeals to me in the same way, and that age and time did not change its relevance. This series painted the imagery of the book in such a way that it made me want to read the book again. It's funny how a lot of the coming-of-age classics in literature tend to feature a very similar protagonist. A somewhat unattractive, lonesome, book worm who cannot fit in with their peers. I guess the author is writing from their own struggle through youth and its accompanying woes, so makes sense ey.

I painted this at Nethminder’s house when we watched Song of the Sea. I have not seen such a beautiful movie in a long time. Every time I blinked I felt as though I missed a feast for ze eyes. The colours, the animation, the story and the MUSIC, such an experience it was. Thanks Nethminder <3
