⟢ Much to no one’s surprise, you fall first and Ayn falls harder. He’s got that typical black cat personality that makes approaching him difficult, let alone becoming close with him. Due to his lack of experience, Ayn doesn’t even consider a romantic relationship with you at first. It takes time to melt past his aloof forefront but once you do, he develops the biggest soft spot for you. Not that he’ll outright tell you, of course. This is Ayn we’re talking about. Once you show him you’re trustworthy and enjoy spending time with him, he’ll slowly but surely fall for you. He’ll do anything for you once you’ve reached this point. 

⟢ Clarence also has a lack of experience with relationships and he’s got quite the busy schedule, so you fall first and he falls much harder. Not that Clarence has ever been against romantic relationships but he’s a practical and very busy man. His schedule is always packed to the brim with activities even in the evenings. He has no time to even think about a girlfriend or a relationship. That is, until you come into the picture. He’s calculated so when it comes to future partners, he takes into account if things will last long term. He doesn’t rush into things because of this. But somehow, you manage to wriggle your way into his heart and eventually, he’s clearing his schedule for you, mindlessly bringing you up in conversations with his family and Luca, getting flustered around you… What? He laughed when he found out that his friend Luca had a girlfriend but now? He’s got no room to judge when he’s this hopelessly in love with you.

⟢ You fall first and harder for Cael. Cael made an agreement years back and has since been assigned your caretaker. That role, however, does not require any emotional connection. He’s simply fulfilling a promise he made way back when. Of course, things change over time. You gradually fall for him but his view of love and feelings is quite jaded so he hesitates to grow closer to you emotionally. As someone from the Empire, emotions and love are a foreign concept. You start being more vulnerable with him though, and he starts to notice differences within himself. Could it be love? It takes a while for him to accept that it is, but when he does he loves you quietly. He doesn’t push himself onto you but cares and protects you.

⟢ Lars is the heir to the Feinz Group, so it’s naturally expected of him to settle eventually but by no means is he in any rush to do so. He’s much more of a go with the flow and spontaneous guy, so when he sees you when he’s not looking for love, he feels as though cupid just struck him with an arrow. He finds you adorable and incredibly hardworking when he finds out about your art. Again, he’s not one to rush things, so he admires from the sidelines. He’ll tease and give you a nickname but will only make a move when things feel right. He’s the most supportive boyfriend you could ever ask for, so you fall harder by just a smidge.

⟢ Believe in love at first sight or not, Alkaid falls for you the very minute he sees you and falls much harder. Not in a superficial way, but genuinely. He is attracted to your kindness at first and wants to get to know you better from there. As soon as he does, he falls for you hard. Getting to know you more makes his feelings for you grow stronger and whether you reciprocate his feelings or not, he’ll always have love for you. It’s as though he’s already dedicated a spot in his heart for you and no matter what happens, he’ll just want you to be happy. He is a lovesick man and the epitome of a yearner.

⟢ The discussion of children would happen when the two of you are in a comfortable place financially and have settled into your marriage a bit. Alkaid isn’t one to rush into things and never has been, plus he understands the amount of patience and resilience it takes to bring another life into the world and guide them through it, so the two of you would have to have a heart to heart conversation about if you’re really ready to have children. By this point, Alkaid has full faith that you’ll be a wonderful mother, he’s seen how you are around children before! But he knows the impact that pregnancy and being a mother has on women emotionally, mentally, and physically, so he’d want to hear you affirm that you’re ready for kids. 

⟢ Once you give him the thumbs up, the two of you get to work very quickly and let’s just say… it doesn’t take long for you to become pregnant. 

⟢ Alkaid’s family are the first people you announce your pregnancy to, and they are absolutely overjoyed to hear that the two of you are expecting! Alkaid’s parents have always loved you and welcomed you into their small family with open arms, so they make for great grandparents. 

⟢ Whenever you’re hit with a wave of morning sickness, Alkaid is always there by your side, holding your hair back and keeping a glass of water for you on hand. He rubs your back and holds you close afterwards as a way of showing silent support. During this time, he’s extra doting and takes care of house chores and cooking. 

⟢ If you’re up for it, Alkaid would also enjoy walks together in the late afternoon/evening as a way of spending quality time and getting in some exercise. He knows that exercise is beneficial for pregnant women yet won’t force you if you’re not up for it! 

⟢ He is the most supportive husband to have by your side throughout your pregnancy. He does his research and asks his mother for advice so that he can better support you. If prenatal classes are something you’re interested in, he’ll gladly go with you! He wants to be the best father possible, and that means supporting you too. 

⟢ He’ll accompany you to every appointment and check up. The minute you get your first ultrasound picture back, he’ll start making a scrapbook filled with ultrasound pictures, pictures from your gender reveal, pictures from building the nursery, pictures of you, and other momentos! He’s sentimental like that and this tradition of scrapbooking continues even after the baby is born. 

⟢ I like to think that he’d want the nursery to be celestial themed if the two of you don’t already have a theme in mind. To him, he has many fond memories of the sky and stargazing with you, so he’d want to incorporate the stars into the baby nursery somehow! He’d buy star themed wall decor and crib mobile. A lot of the baby’s onesies would have little stars and planets on them too. Having been dubbed the “teddy bear” of the astronomy department at St. Shelter, teddy bears also have a lot of significance to Alkaid so he’d get his baby their own teddy bear and even a teddy bear onesie. 

⟢ Alkaid is the best whenever your emotions are turbulent because of how naturally soothing and comforting he is. Whenever you cry over something random, like a cat on the side of the road or a tv show, he’ll gingerly hold you and rub your back as a way of consoling you. 

⟢ When you approach your last trimester, Alkaid makes sure to pack the hospital bag in advance and monitor your health as best as possible. Around this time, he’ll be cautious about going out and make sure that you have it just in case it’s time! When you do officially go into labor, Alkaid does his best to support you by rubbing the sweat off your forehead, giving you his hand to squeeze, tying your hair up for you, helping you through waves of nausea, and offering words of encouragement when it's time to push. After your baby is born, he places a kiss on your temple and praises you for how well you did. He knows that labor is a tiring and lengthy process so he’ll insist that you nap while he looks after the baby for the first couple of hours! 

⟢ You and Alkaid end up having two boys who are exactly like him! They are either twins or have a small age gap of a couple years but they are as gentle as their father (and have his soft eyes too). Alkaid is a very hands-on parent who aims to guide them through life, so he teaches them to be kind to people, animals, and plants. They inherit his disney princess-like affinity to animals as well as his adventurous side. Sometimes, this gets them into trouble (touching poison ivy, for example) but with your guidance, they learn to be more cautious! 

⟢ When they’re still babies, Alkaid does his best to help you. He knows that postpartum depression and baby blues are no joke and that the newborn stage feels like the trenches, so when he sees you get up at night, he’ll sit up and reassure you that he can take care of the baby. 

⟢ He enjoys going on family walks with the baby, so you two will stroll in town or the countryside with the stroller. Unfortunately, babies can’t really stay up at night to see the stars but when your boys are old enough to do so, Alkaid will trace the constellations and teach them their names. And with how much their father loves the stars, how could they not also adore them? One year, Alkaid will even gift the boys a telescope. 

⟢ It doesn’t take long for Sparkles and your cat to warm up to your kids, honestly, and it’s the cutest when they are still in the newborn stage. The cats will quietly nap or sit next to your babies when they’re in the rocker. When they get older, the cats are seen as family/siblings to them. 

⟢ Alkaid’s parents are wonderful grandparents and offer to babysit your boys so the two of you can spend time childfree. They also often invite your children to their place for sleepovers when they aren’t busy, so they are very involved. From the minute they were born, Alkaid’s Parents started hanging up pictures of them in the hallway and on their fridge (alongside some christmas and post cards from you and Alkaid). 

⟢ Ever heard of gentle parenting? Well, Alkaid is the epitome of a gentle parent. He’s extra understanding and patient with your children yet also firmly places any necessary boundaries. They can have sweets, but he’ll put his foot down if it’s too late or if they’ve had too many. They can stay up on the weekends, but on school nights, they have to be in bed by 8:30 pm sharp. One bad grade is not going to kill them and in fact, he’ll console them if they ever feel down about it, but purposely slacking off in school is a no-no. No negotiations there! 

⟢ He’s the kind to rub your children’s back and empathize with them when they fall over themselves but also help them up and remind them that they’re strong enough to get back up again. He’s the perfect balance of understanding and also encouraging. 

⟢ Alkaid loves your family very much, so most of his camera roll is consumed with pictures of you, your boys, or all of you. A lot of them are candids because he just wants to catch the beauty of it.

Alkaid McGrath Dating Headcanons

𓊈 note: this is a belated post for his birthday since I had midterms this week! i hope this isn't too ooc 𓊉

⟢ As a boyfriend, Alkaid is gentle and thoughtful. He doesn't believe love to be an overpowering anecdote that'll mend all problems, but he does believe that it's an addition to the happiness that already exists in his life. Essentially, he's got a secure attachment style, so you'll have a healthy relationship. If you're on either side of the insecure attachment spectrum, Alkaid is patient and willing to help you feel more secure. He knows that it's not his job to "fix" you, but he sees it as his job to support you as your boyfriend. He's mature and emotionally intelligent enough to have conversations about it if that is your situation. He'll listen attentively and ask you how he can support you the best.

⟢ Alkaid is an attentive boyfriend who enjoys taking care of you. If you ever come over to his place, he likes to cook for you. Unless you vocalize wanting to help out in the kitchen/cook, he'll insist that you sit back with Sparkles as he whips something up for the two of you. His cooking is wonderful, so be sure to tell him this! Afterwards, he cleans up and washes the dishes too.

⟢ Alkaid is a very private person so he doesn't post much if anything at all about your relationship on his social media. He still takes many photos of you though! He mostly takes candid pictures of you when you least expect it, and thanks to his photography skills, they come out beautifully every time. Alkaid has pictures on his phone but also printed ones that he leaves on top of his desk, on a picture board in his room, and once you two make it official, he'll even keep a picture in his wallet. He's quite proud of his relationship with you but in a quiet way.

⟢ Alkaid's main love languages are quality time, acts of service, and words of affirmation. Alkaid appreciates and values all time spent with you, it does not matter what you two do. To him, a quick run to the store is just as meaningful as a carefully planned picnic date. The two of you don't need to be talking the whole time either, Alkaid simply enjoys basking in your presence. If you're more of a talker, he listens to you with a smile on his face and watches the way that your eyes light up. Alkaid typically gravitates towards outdoorsy dates like picnics, hiking, and stargazing. However, he's totally fine with doing whatever you wish so long as he gets to spend time with you!

⟢ When it comes to acts of service, Alkaid likes to take care of you. He enjoys cooking for the both of you, it feels domestic and intimate for him, but he also brushes your hair, replaces light bulbs around the house, does your laundry, and helps you with other practical things. He's always thinking about ways to help you out so he'll remember your schedule and chores that you mentioned needing to do. He has a keen memory, so it comes in clutch.

⟢ Alkaid has a tender heart so he believes that love should be earnestly expressed. He tells you all the time how much he enjoys spending time with you, how happy you make him, and how important you are. He affirms his love for you often and he's not ashamed to tell you how much he loves you. He also compliments you everyday but it's not just shallow compliments about your external beauty but also about your inner beauty. He often praises you for how resilient, caring, thoughtful, and kindhearted you are. He never wants you to forget that, so he makes it a point to remind you whenever he can.

⟢ Despite his seemingly delicate and soft exterior, Alkaid is very sporty and athletic so he'll invite you to partake in such activities with him. Having been in a cycling club in high school, he's a skilled cyclist and enjoys biking with you. He likes it when you're both on the same bicycle and you hold onto him from behind, but he enjoys cycling side by side just as much. If you don't know how to ride a bike, he'll teach you. Alkaid is a very patient and attentive teacher, so you'll have it down in no time. This goes for other sports as well, Alkaid will gladly teach you whatever you'd like.

⟢ Alkaid is the type who fully commits once you two get into an established relationship. This means that he sees a future with you and plans on staying for the long term, so he'd like to introduce you to his family at some point. Doesn't have to be immediately, but he'd like you to connect with them! In the past, Alkaid has spoken very fondly about you, so his family naturally accepts you with open arms. Especially his mother who is said to be as kind as him.

⟢ The two of you never ever have explosive arguments. Like all couples, you occasionally have your little squabbles and disagreements, but these never become intense. Nothing upsets Alkaid more than upsetting you, so whenever you two are butting heads, he'll take a step back and reassess the situation with gentle understanding. He never raises his voice at you and instead, listens to your perspective and offers a solution. He's great at communicating but also great at navigating conflict. He's quick to learn about your temperament too, so once he's got it down, he'll either talk things out immediately or give you space accordingly.

Lars gets extreme cuteness aggression from his little painter and sometimes, he can’t help but act out on it.

Whenever you’re extremely focused either on a painting or other activity, he’ll boop the tip of your nose and flash his usual playful grin at you.

When you excitedly show him your newest painting, he’ll ruffle your hair and praise you for how well you did.

When you look up at him, he’ll catch you off guard and randomly pinch your cheek and chuckle about it.

When the two of you hold hands, he can’t help but want to compare hand sizes. Your hands are much cuter and are easily engulfed by his, this is especially emphasized when you hold up your hand next to his.

You can pout all you like, but can you blame him?
