it feels like there’s a lump in his throat. there’s so much he wants to tell her but can’t. bringing up his feelings will only complicate things even more and jay isn’t sure his heart can handle any more problems between the two of them. hearing that rory missed him makes his heart race and jay’s positive the girl can hear it. the moment her hand touches his cheek, he lets out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. he missed this too much. all he can do is mumble her name before his own hand is cupping her cheek and he’s leaning in to kiss her, softly enough to allow her to pull away if she wants to. the butterflies are back.
as soon as his lips are on hers shes making familiar noises, returned kiss more sheepish than shes used to, but only for a few seconds. once her confidence comes back she moves to sit on top of him, refusing to disconnect their lips as she graces the familiar position around his waist, tongue deepening an already overly passionate kiss. the heat beneath the covers stirs her into waters better left alone for now, sitting back before she moves in the wrong direction. “ thats not exactly something friends do, james. ” she challenges with a smirk, hair brushed out of her flushed face as she composes herself. “ somethings different about you.. ”
