now that’s a face with a thousand questions. we could give you some answers, stranger. the oracle requests you draw a card. just focus intently on what you want to know most, and pull from the deck. you won’t need to say any more than that– we’ll leave it to the fates.

the reading:
“nature is bent on new beginning and death has not a chance of winning… ” — rosy cole
you are new in this supernatural world, but not to suffering. even before your transformation, born in blood, you were forged in the fires of hatred and pain. still there is much for you to discover and experience, impervious to the passage of time. life seems to stretch endlessly ahead, but that doesn’t mean you will be bored. a thousand lives await you, should you survive the battle ahead.
you are: rory sloan
age: twenty-eight thirty gender & pronouns: cis male, he/him faceclaim: daniel sharman occupation: manager of the indigo fox
the interpretation:
tw drugs, violence, death in another life, malcolm rory sloan could have been something great. a painter, or a journalist, or a life-saving surgeon. in our lifetime, though, rory was a dirtbag, through and through. the product of a high-school pregnancy and shotgun wedding into the most crime-heavy area of boston, rory grew up in the tougher parts of the city. his young mother abandoned their so-called family when rory was five years old, leaving the boy under the not-so-watchful eye of his father. the man was too busy running drugs and hustling to keep his own gang happy to care about something as trivial as his son. it wasn’t long before rory was impressed into the strict regime of his paternal grandmother.
rory might have had a home, and someone at that home who cared about him, but that didn’t mean his environment couldn’t win him over. rory saw things with more mature ‘save his own skin’ practicality than someone his age should have had– how many kids get the idea to hustle rich kids in the next school district over by selling them fake rave drugs before they even hit high school? before his four years in boston public were over, rory was sent to serve a two year sentence in juvenile hall for a multitude of colorful charges. nineteen years old he emerged new into the adult’s world he’d always lived in. and rory thrived.
the supernatural didn’t seem real to him, not in any sense of the word he experienced. as he immersed himself in the criminal underground of his hometown, rory had no choice but to come to grips with creatures with strength far more impressive than his own. his antagonistic nature didn’t make him a lot of friends among supernatural beings. one wrong move and it was over, or so he thought, his life fading away as a vampire came upon him and brought him back to life. coming to grips with his newfound abilities under his mentor’s watchful eye has been relatively uneventful. staying in the town of castor, someplace extremely boring, isn’t helping in the slightest. see also: the chariot, this character’s vampire sire.
