Finally, I finally colored this drawing I did for the akasere week, wayback in 2023

I had been wanting to do it for a long time, but I could find the file and I honestly thought it was lost, but I found it, unfortunately not soon enough for the akasere week this year, but better late than never right?

Amoxoaque

In aztec religion, the legend of the Five Suns said that every human was transforned into different creatures when the era of each sun ended, in one lf them, the humans were turned into tree people that served as guardians of nature. I took inspiration from thus legend and from some pictures I have of the firefly sanctuary in Mexico.

Here I'm back with my bullshit

I mean, since we have an official announcement for the anime of Alien Stage, I ended up recoloring this other drawing I made.

Is not that the other was terrible, or that I hated it, it's just that I always felt like it could have been better, so here it is, with hopefully better use of lighting, shadows and cleaner colors overall.

I also corrected some stuff on Luka's clothes (specially so it would look more like a bride's dress :P)

Yes this was because of the anime announcement.

This is a redraw I made with markers, the first one was the very first time I used markers, and the second one is the more recent version, made with alcohol and acrylic markers.

Following with my apparent trend of remaking some of my old draawings, here is one that I'm still surprised it came out as well as it did, because it's the first time I tried this type of "realistic" painting.

I tried very hard not to make Leez beautiful or even pretty, because she is not supposed to be, since her face is apparently more "handsome" according ro currygom, not sure how well it came out.

Anyway, this semester we had a class focused on digital painting and I made this for an assigment about different types of lighting.

"5 minutes before midnight"

This is a weird post from me, but I found this when I was cleaning old files from an old homework, with that title and I can't honestly can't remember what the class was about for us to do this, but I still really like it! So here you go!

This was an edit made with our own photos, I did the glass slipper using a perfume bottle and color balance, and the clock is an old thing in my mom's house that is broken and perpetually marking 5 minutes before twelve and I must have immediatly thought "Oh! Cinderella!"

Hey there, I have not been dead (yet)

But I'm actually back in school, and I was also super busy finishing a zine piece, because I was using a new coloring style that happened to be a bit of steeper learning curve than I thought.

Anyway, this is a sneak peek for my piece in the "Saint Seiya in the Winter" zine, organized by @saintseiya-zone

I chose a character that has only appeared on the games, but I think you guys can guess who is this ✨

"TODAY WAS A SUNNY DAY"

"This phrase is attributed to Mexican television presenter Jacobo Zabludovsky in the context of the 1968 Movement in Mexico and the massacre that took place on October 2 of that year in Mexico City's Plaza de las Tres Culturas. Since there are no known recordings of the host's program, the phrase has been used to exemplify the Mexican government's censorship of those events. There are different versions of the phrase, and Zabludovsky may not even have said it."

Today is yet another anniversary of the Tlatelolco massacre of 1968, and finally, I'm posting this piece I did around two years ago, for an art contest.

As stated in the above quote, this phrase supposedly said by the presentator has become an urban legend of sorts, there is no proof that he ever said it, on the contrary we have plenty of evidence that every news station and newspaper did report the incident, but in a very downplayed way that on top of it made the students look like an extremist group looking for trouble.

But, personally I still used it, because for me, despite not being the actual thing, imo it still works as a very appropiate metaphor for the repression that these students must have lived at the time, and everything that followed afterwards.

For the main colors of red and blue, I used them for contrast, and as light and shadow of each other in different angles, the red is more pronounced where the events took place, and slowly becoming blue to portray a certain coldness of this happening, without most people knowing it did until it was done, and the red is absolutely meant to look like smeared blood in certain parts for that reason.
