Dany glanced back toward the persimmon tree. There was no woman there. No hooded robe, no lacquer mask, no Quaithe. A shadow. A Memory. No one.

So, the sort of rule of thumb — or thumbs — is that Sophie has a slightly higher pitch; we kind of joke that it’s the “creepy baby voice.” She also tends to stand with her left hand over her right wrist in front of her. Phoebe tends to talk in a lower register, and she’s got more sass and bite when she talks. She usually has a hand on her hip, or arms crossed. She’s full of piss and vinegar, like, she’s ready to push buttons at any moment in time. And Esme is sort of our straight shooter. She has my natural speaking voice and she tends to stand with her arms down. - Skyler Samuels

You know what sucks? Being the only one who’s giving up something that they love. Oh, and being the only one who has a love-hate relationship with their parent who’s in prison. Wait a minute, you have one of those, too.
Do you know what my mother said to me when I said I wanted to start a company? She said your chances are one in a million. And I said maybe I’m that one, and she said you’re not. And she was wrong. And whatever she thought she saw in me was wrong. Because I am one in a million. And if you can’t see that, then you’re wrong, just like my mother.
