Heated Rivalry
With my “amazing” ability to draw cats, I just had to…
It’s sending me that both Lucifer and Vox’s relationship with Alastor is basically “I want your attention so bad it makes me look stupid.”
Like Lucifer is giving schoolyard bully, pulling pigtails to make Alastor notice him. All Alastor has to do is be in the room. Like in Ep 4, he literally just walked in and Lucifer had to immediately draw his attention and lie that Alastor interrupted his talk with Angel Dust.
And then we have Vox!! Holy shit Vox. Immediately asking after Alastor at the hotel, coming to him as soon as he calls( even stopping in the middle of sex with Val) agreeing to a deal without hesitation, the media tour complete with a date and everything else.
Like they need his acknowledgment so bad it’s embarrassing.
advertisement is so constant and everywhere i have to wonder if it even works anymore. im aware my bus stop probably has ads on it but i couldnt tell you what for. i hear 'this video is sponsored by' and i start skipping ahead until its over. u can probably argue theyre still getting in your brain by becoming part of the white noise but like idk man. im feelin really "when everything is ads, nothing is." right now.
Nothing makes me angrier than the “Minimum wage jobs are intended for teenagers, of course adults can’t live off the wages, they should get real jobs.” bullshit. Not only are you pro child labor but you’re pro underpaying children for their labor? Also, there are so many teenagers out there working to survive and pay rent and support themselves and their families and these jobs are fucking brutal. Pay them what they deserve.
you're the only one who understands me mr strobbery
I am sick and tired of "I read it in an article" being the definitive 'proof' or 'factual reference' of quotes for larger figures when conversing with my partner. She says something about the political state and the legal consequences of what so-and-so said but when I ask if they actually said that, I'm the untrusting bad-guy now having to defend myself as if I agreed with the person. So-and-so said this x years ago in blah-blah article so I say they're a terrible human being who anything they say now is irrelevant and anyone whose mad at them is good in my book.
I'm paraphrasing to not spiral but, if you want me to trust you, can you trust me too?
You can question my sourses and call me un-informed but I can't ask you to show me the actual quote?
Me - "I don't doubt it happened but I'm curious what was actually said, where and what lead up to it."
💍 - "Why? People on the internet keep saying it happened and I've seen so many articles."
Me - "Okay, can I see one of these articles so I can find the sourse?"
💍 - "You don't trust me! Why do you keep trying to defend these people?!"
Me - "I'm not trying to defend them! I never said I didn't trust you, I don't trust the INTERNET. I was literally asking to settle a curiosity..."
💍 - "OMG you're so dramatic. Well, I can't find it so you're just gonna HAVE to trust me on this. I thought I was just casually mentioning something I read because I wanted to have a conversation with you and we never talk anymore."
I can't keep hearing about ChatGPT, GoogleAI Answers and random things she interprets (thinks she remembers but doesn't know from where) are ABSOLUTES.
someone who got into reading fanfiction on AO3 via tiktokers reviewing 'famous' fanfics and then started complaining that there are 'crimes' on the kinktober list (and I use that word very loosely, because fictional situations cannot be crimes) - is like someone who heard about a really well reviewed buffet at a strip club and when they go there to eat, they start loudly complain about the naked dancers everywhere and the 'creepy people' paying them for lap dances
like you could go anywhere to eat, just like you can go anywhere to read fiction - Wattpad, ff.net, a book store, a library, a different internet archive, the kindle store, tumblr writing blogs - but instead you come to a specifically adult place and complain about it being full of uncensored adult content and the adults who enjoy it. it's just bizarre

my "I'm with the boomers on this one" take is that I should not need an app to park my fucking car. increasingly when I'm out and about and need to use public parking, the only option is an app. no. no. give me a meter I can plug the loose change from the bottom of my purse into. worst comes to absolute worst give me a machine to insert my credit card which prints a receipt for the dashboard of my car (I don't like those either but at least they are on site). "to pay for parking, download our app!" why don't you download my ass
if anyone ever asks why return of the jedi is my favourite star wars film i’ll just send them this gif
I think the funnier conclusion is that Luke did mean to physically kick the guy, missed, and then used the force to cover his fuckup.
I think my favorite Steter dynamic is a completely smitten and obsessed Peter (as per canon), he has wanted Stiles since the lacrosse field, and Stiles had him wrapped around his finger since then too. Peter wants, overwhelmingly so.
And a Stiles who, against his better judgment and despite how hard he tries not to, grows attached to Peter. He really doesn't want to, he's still wary about the whole murder spree and what Peter did to Scott and Lydia - even though Stiles may be the only one in the pack who fundamentally understands that Peter wasn't in his right mind, like, with Stiles' history with his mom he might be the only one who truly understands it, but that doesn't mean he easily forgives, he holds a deep grudge, just like Peter can.
It'd be so easy to see the villain, the deliberately unhelpful asshole. But then Peter is being helpful and Peter understands where Stiles is going with his thoughts and he keeps up with Stiles and he meets him barb for barb and fuck, Stiles got attached. Fuck.
And a Peter who is so busy trying to prove himself to Stiles, and only Stiles. He has no intentions of making anything up to anyone, not even Derek, the bad blood is mutual. But Stiles? He wants Stiles and to have him, he needs to prove his usefulness, he needs to prove that he is no longer the feral beast, he needs to prove that he is worthy of that unwavering, fierce loyalty.
And he's so busy trying to prove that, he doesn't even notice when he has it.
I respect an "I can fix him" villainfucker 50x more than a "he didn't do anything wrong, he's just misunderstood!" villainfucker. like yeah they both get the cute domestic happily ever after, but man the first guy has depth they have nuance and most importantly they are actually aware they're a villainfucker
but the guy i respect MOST is the unapologetic villainfucker. "yeah he did that shit and it was sexy" fuckers. "was the wanton murder fun babe it looked fun" fuckers. these guys know where it's at
