(SOLD) Number 10 - 60x90 cm April 2018
I think it’s safe to say that I’m in a blue period of my life by now.
This wonderful blue fantasy abstract painting is an imaginary ocean filled with an endless stream of thoughts and feelings.
I am very proud to announce that it has already been sold. It now resides at my loving and caring parents' home. Thank you for supporting my work.
The money from the sale is going to help fund my trip to China. Here I’m going to train Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi-gong for 4 months...
Number 9 - 30x40 cm April 2018
This painting is a bit more gloomy and dark than the other pieces I have made so far.
I have focused on bringing more life into my paintings, and in this piece I have mixed acrylics with coloured pencils, which gives it a very nice feel to it. As a bonus it adds a very cool texture.
Number 8 - 30x30 cm March 2018
I’m exploring my painting techniques even more, and try to be aware of not being aware of what I do. Does that sound weird? I try to make my paintings flow more naturally - more intuitively.
It’s hard, but it’s my goal to be able to just paint, and not consider whether a color or brush stroke is right or wrong.
This time my composition is very centered and calm, kind of like a butterfly or star. I wonder if it reflects my current state of mind :D
Let me know what you think in the comments below <3
Number 7 - 30x30 cm March 2018
I have been dealing with a very hard time lately, resulting in fewer to none paintings for 3-4 months. I have now regained some of my energy, and has picked up the proces where I left off.
To get started again, I chose to paint in 30x30 cm.
Let me know what you think.
Number 6 - 35x120 cm November 2017
Yet another blueish acrylic adventure. This time a very interesting format - I will definitely paint several paintings in this format.
Once again it has been a journey from start to finish, that at times felt very unclear and frustrating to say at least. Not frustatring because it doesn’t turn out the way I want initially wanted to, but frustrating in terms of the feelings I go through during painting.
I find it fascinating and intriguing that such a simple thing as painting can provoke feelings and emotions I didn’t think I struggled with.
And again, feel free to name this painting and/or comment below.
Number 5 - Double 20x40 cm November 2017
This is a very cold painting - maybe it reflects my feelings of the coming winter. I tried not to overthink my painting in terms of color and composition, and just keep everything flowing as natural as possible. I have a strong connection to blue at the moment. Blue was my sons favorite color!
Again as always, feel free to name it, or comment below.
Number 4 - 30x30 cm October 2017
This painting has gone so many stages that I have a hard time keeping track of it.
It started out with only shades of one color, but drastic changes in mood and state of mind during the process, had a drastic influence on the painting. Very interesting discovery. This is the final result, after I practically “destroyed” the painting several times xD
Feel free to name it below.
Number 03 - 30x30 cm October 2017
This is my third painting in my healing process, and I’ve discovered a lot of techniques by just doing it - Maybe Nike got something in their slogan :D ..
This is more focused on spatula and blending.
Feel free to name it below.
Number 02 - 30x30 cm October 2017
I’m exploring the different kind of brush strokes, blending techniques and mediums.
This painting did not turn out as I expected - I had something totally different in my mind, but none the less I’m quite happy with the result.
Again, feel free to propose a name for it in a comment below :)
Number 01 - 30x40 cm October 2017
My first attempt at painting with acrylics. I love the way the paint feels, and the process is so soothing and healing.
You’re welcome to caption/name it, if you want to. Feel free to write it in a comment below :)
I recently lost my dearest 2 year old little angel boy. He fell asleep never to awake again. No signs of any kind of illness, what so ever. He just didn’t wake up.
I lost the greatest love of my life - my first born son. I lost a part of my self!
As hard as it is to grasp the reality in this, as hard is it to learn to live with this burden for the rest of my days.
As a part of my intense period of grieving, I fell in love with the art of painting - acrylics on canvas. This Tumblr will be dedicated to my beloved son Hugo Markfoged Rosendahl, and my process of gaining experience as an artist.
Thank you.
