If you had Capasity to travel Forward or Backwards in Time. Would you Meet yourself? If so, what would you discuss if anything? (For Rose)

"...That really is the thing, isn't it? I don't exist as myself in the future. Though my son has my gem...that's not me. Not anymore. I gave it up to him, so... All I could do is go backwards.

"And there's so much to explain. So much to apologize to myself for. So much to...try and make right. Things I could say and do that I didn't do...as I have done.

"But what could be done? Is the small mistakes I've made, that snowballed into galactic- or even just worldwide- messes for Steven... Would it have been enough to save him from the grief? Would the Crystal Gems...have forgiven me? What would they have done, knowing a Diamond was rebelling against Homeworld and the rest of the authority? Would they want to stay with me, even then...?

"Too many questions, no answers. Just...a hope that maybe it would've done some good. Enough good, maybe, that... Steven could've had a better life.

"I don't much care for what mine became. It was...a life worth living, in my opinion. Even with the mistakes, even with the lies I felt had to be told. For the betterment of the gems around me.

"I... I'm basically saying it wasn't easy. And maybe I would've liked to tell my past self to try new things earlier. Take Spinel with you; she means no harm. We can love and forgive what she stands for. It's not her fault. Try to be honest with the Crystal Gems; let's try and see where that leads us, okay? And when you meet a human named Greg Universe...

"Love him with all of your gem. Because even humans can be like us. Can experience similar things to what we went through...but be kind. Be aware. Learn. Just as they do, those silly, short-lived humans.

"...I don't know what would be changed, but... Can't we all hope for a better future to come from things like that? Call it wishful thinking! Heh... Ah."

She quirked her brow, letting out a small stifle smirk as she punched her shield again, trying to shatter it so she can make some sort of contact on the gem’s body with her hits. “Just lightly trying to cover those wounds with apologies don’t work with me Rose!! It will never work!!” She shouted, grinning wickedly as she grabbed onto the gem’s fist and whirled her around before slamming her onto the ground. “Pathetic….you’re just…pathetic….come on, fight me like you mean it!”

   “Well, I’m trying my best, here!!!” Rose snaps, a little frustrated, but moreso trying to balance fighting with communication. Ugh, so unfair!!! Quartzes naturally have fighting instinct, but... Rose is just a Diamond pretending to be a Quartz, making this a bit more tricky. Especially since she’s ultra rusty.... If peace softened up the Crystal Gems, then Rose reclaiming her fountain and hiding out there made her a marshmallow.

   Dammit... Probably should’ve done a warm-up before visiting her once favored Quartz guard. Best of the bunch for a reason, not that she, uh....remembered that as clearly until this moment. Especially with her back being slammed into the rough ground.

   “Says the one who tore out the grass,” she grumbles sourly, a hand grabbing Jasper’s wrist as she turns her hand in the other’s hold, so Rose can give a powerful cry as she pulls Jasper off of her feet and throw her off and away. “Cut me a break, Jasper!! I’m rusty!!!”
