Why Everything Suddenly Vanished + What Happens Next

so… a weird wave of moderation hit out of nowhere.

Even though Tumblr officially cleared my blog as not explicit, they also have, as of Friday: – terminated my original account @masterlouistf, – hid or suppressed a bunch of my RawTexts development posts, – made the account name RawTexts an unavailable blog name even though its not in use.

I honestly don’t know if Tumblr is rolling out another automated ban wave or updating their filters again, but the timing is very inconvenient. Even posts that were purely tech updates about RawTexts got buried after my account being marked as safe.

Because my main account is gone, I can’t post stories for now, not unless support reinstates the original blog. All my drafts, WIPs, queued chapters, tags, followers, everything: locked behind that termination.

But I will still post updates here as we ramp up to the Beta in the next couple of months.

🛠️ RawTexts isn’t cancelled. Development is still moving, the platform is still being built, and I’ll keep sharing the behind-the-scenes progress, design decisions, and dev notes right here on this new blog while we wait for tumblr support to sort things out (which I hope they do) and I will be keeping writing separate to prevent any reason to take this account down too.

I just want to keep people in the loop and avoid disappearing without explanation. If the original account is restored, stories will resume like normal. if not… well, I’ll adapt and hopefully see you on RawTexts when it's live.

Beta Coming Soon

I'll put this at the start for anyone skimming. There are a few more things to get out as well as bug testing, fine-tuning, and a bit more feature polishing are in progress. But soon for those who are interested, I'll be setting up a form for people to sign-up and test RawTexts yourself. I'll also be reaching out to anyone who submitted their email.

Post UI and New Features

RawTexts isn’t trying to be a Tumblr knock-off, so we wanted to build a new modern interface that ties your images into the forefront of your experience. So as we get closer to beta I've been going over and "prettying" up some of the designs from early in development and making the site design more cohesive.

Posts: We've added support for cover art and titles which can make your content stand out even more on the page and given it a more modern glassy UI.

Carousel: On the FYP, Following, Searches and Tag pages a carousel will now show the top 5 pieces of content in the last week.

Showcases: We know there are a large amount of people on tumblr who use it to post pictures with a short description. So now you can post a Showcase which is a custom built gallery showing up to 10 pics.

Social Tools

We had a LOT of feedback on the kinds of social features you want on RawTexts, so as a result we've spent a lot of time thinking about how to make these features work for you.

Asks: Nearly half the responses to our form said Asks were important. With that in mind, Tumblr's Asks have always felt like a bodge. So now you can submit pics and private notes which wont appear on the finished post so you can keep your horny fantasies clear and not fill up the asks are on the post. Also due to the amount of hate writers recieve on Asks, we wont be supporting anonymous asks.

Messaging: Similary 60% of responses said DMs were important So we've built a custom messager into the site.

Tip Links: 50% of writers said they were likely to use a tip link on their blog, and 43% of readers indicated they'd use one to support a writer. So after thinking hard about how to implement this, we decided that these will be optional additions that will appear on a blog Asks page, and about page. We may change this based on demand down the line so feel free to give us your ideas.

Alerts: All our asks, likes, mentions and reblogs are all tied into a notification system which can update you on site, or (if you enable it) send alerts directly to your phone or browser.

Safety

Creating a safe space for writers and readers is the KEY goal for RawTexts, I want to enable you to write your kinky stories with dirty pics and gifs, but there is a line.

The site will not support photos of minors, even if not in a sexual context. Children should not be anywhere near this content either reading or featuring in it.

Hate speech and Far right content will not be allowed.

Non-consentual themes involving graphic violence, dead things, or animals will not be allowed.

Self harm or suicidal themes will not be allowed.

This list may grow with time but I believe this is a comfortable starting position. To support these I have added in a few features to help you feel comfortable and to build the community we need.

AI Screening: A local AI Model is used to screen for the age of people in photos, suicide and self harm, and extreme violence. If it fails, these photos will not be saved to servers and will immediately be removed from your post while writing it.

Content Flagging: As with all AI there is an error margin and as with our rules they are not a catch all. So we've build a custom reporting tool for chats, posts and pics where you can submit your concerns. The goal is NOT to punish or police you if you make a mistake or push the line, but to talk and resolve it either by removing a pic or asking you to adjust your post.
