Deme warm-up!!!
what is your favourite song from Matilda?
when i grow up & quiet
the funniest thing about my insistence with that song specifically is that you would think it's my favorite song in the show, but it really isn't lmao, far from it. i only listen to it when i'm actually watching the musical all the way through or in specific, punctual moments when i'm in the right mood. but i have to come here and DEFEND its honor all the time from people who have some ??? interpretations of it like it's my job. maybe it is my job
remember the person who commented this simply because the actress in the video DARED to express sadness on her face and voice while singing the song.
lol. lmao, even. it's so interesting because matilda is a very wordy musical, most songs have a play with words in them in one way or another. but my house doesn't, it's a simple song lyrically speaking and seemingly very straightforward. but the thing is it doesn't play with the words themselves because it plays with the meaning behind those words. it's threading a very fine, delicate line between two things the whole time and it seems some folks completely ignore the line and run away with the "triumph over adversity" part, because i guess it makes them feel good. "she says very clearly that there is nowhere she would rather be" ma'am. i do not know how to explain to you that there's usually more to people than simply the half a dozen words they choose to say. character analysis 101 to look at the broader picture and come to your own conclusions. this person would look at her sitting in her little shed with barely anything to eat and leave her there to fend for herself because if that's what she's choosing 🤷🏻♀️ then leave her be.
“i asked chatgpt” well early sunday morning natasha and i lit a candle and looked in the mirror, they say you can see your future in the long row of candles stretching back and back and back into the depths of the mirror. in the dim, confused last square you’ll see a coffin or a man

[ID: Digital artwork of Natasha and Marya Bolkonskaya, sitting on a sofa, pillows and a flower patterned blanket spilling around them. Marya holds her hand up, touching Natasha's cheek. They are looking at each other, gazes full of novelty and uncertainty, but warm all the same. It feels like something is about to happen. /end ID]
