Phantom of the Paradise Novelization!

If anyone is interested in the Phantom of the Paradise movie novelization, I’ve compiled the photos of the book taken and graciously shared by @phantomoftheparadise0002 into a single, manageable PDF document.

It contains both the front and back cover, as well as a few photos taken from the movie at the very back. Lisa was tremendously kind to share this and even retook some of the blurrier pictures for me! If you notice any issues or anything out of order, please let me know so I can update it!

I know historical rpf shippers ship all sorts of ahistorical stuff but there is something about people needing d'Eon to have sex that's just ugh

I 100% agree! I feel like part of the reason why people just can't seem to leave d'Eon alone when it comes to the whole sex thing is because I do think a lot of people just simply can't accept that someone is asexual, or that someone would choose to never engage an intimacy and would just be okay with being a virgin forever? As an ace person, I run into this issue all the time. I tell people I don't want intimacy, and I say I'm okay if I just stay a virgin my whole life, and it's like I watch their heads literally explode before my eyes! They just can't comprehend it! Unfortunately, for how progressive a lot of things are today in our society, I do feel that asexuality is still not very well understood by a lot of people, and to some extent I do kind of feel like being asexual or just being a person who chooses to never want to have sex is looked down upon.

Yeah its absolutely aphobia. With a lot of historical figures there is room to speculate about their sex lives but with d'Eon there just isn't. She was very clear about being a virgin. Yet people feel the need to imagine her having sex as if her life was lacking something. Why can't they just accept that she never had sex and didn't want to have sex.

I couldn't have said it better myself! When I was first starting to become interested in d'Eon back in 2020-2021, I was at a point in my life where I was still trying to understand my own asexuality. Finding out that d'Eon stayed a virgin her whole life and died a virgin, and even seeing how she was so adamant about her own virginity resonated with me deeply, and really made me feel seen and like I wasn't alone. Even though I'm VERY far from being religious, a lot of the things she said about her own virginity made a lasting impression on me. I will forever be grateful to her for helping me better understand myself and helping me accept myself. 💞💖
