BEN COPPER APPRECIATION IS NEEDED

It seems the main reason so many people dislike Ben Copper, is because he’s anxious ALL THE TIME. If you all take one second to think, if you were in his shoes, you would be terrified too. Your entire life you know only one world. Within seconds, your whole world is changed. Cars with seatbelt are now to be replaced with a fucking flying broomstick, magic can fix bones, and the ways of dying are multiplied by a thousand. Ben, someone who already suffers from anxiety, is being thrust into a new world with very little to absolutely no information on it. The first interaction with his peers was bullying due to his blood status and being an easy target. MC is the first one who treats Ben with kindness, trying to help him with his anxiety, studying, eats lunch with him, or plays games with him. To those of you who think Ben is R, you have to at least respect the higher chance of him not being. I would like to point out that in the “info” box next to the characters’ names in your friend catalog, it says in Ben’s that “ he strives to use his abilities to help his friends any way that he can […]  “, while in Rowan’s (the one with the R name…) it says that they “ aspire to be the youngest professor at Hogwarts.” It never says that he’ll do what he can to help his friends. It can be interpreted that Rowan is mostly out for themselves, while Ben is actually out there, trying to help you. He’s scared all the time, yes, but so are most of us. He is valid and he deserves more appreciation by the fandom.
