Once upon a time there was a girl named Allison Argent. She was beautiful, smart and brave. The universe was cruel to her and took away her aunt and her mother. It wasn’t always easy. However, she had pretty amazing friends who gave her all the strenght she needed. Her best friend was also her soulmate, and there was a special boy who turned out to be her first love. She was also a warrior. She fought really hard to save her friends but one night death took her away. They say the good die young; I just hope she’s somewhere in heaven looking down at us, a smile on her face and a bow and arrow on her hands.
save me i think we ran out of time you said you’d come for me when the world swallowed me whole well the war is over and there are fallen soldiers
You can’t get caught in the middle of this. Don’t you feel what’s happening? It’s like battle lines are being drawn. There’s always crossfire.
“But you can’t shut everyone out. I mean you have to have someone to love…someone to hold on to… someone—”
Hubert Selby Jr., Requiem for a Dream (via monstresvalse)
What was funny was that he thought that was what he wanted to hear this entire time, to realize that it was okay to hate what she did, to hate her. But now he realized that it wasn’t what he wanted, it wasn’t what he felt. Even when she though it was okay because he would be okay and because he had his parents and friends to help restore him, it wasn’t what he wanted to hear from her. “I don’t hate you, Roslyn.” His features softened up as he spoke, the realization of this evident on his face.
"Because you can’t hate anyone who never allowed you to love them properly. What’s stupid is that when you left I thought it was my fault because I should have known that I’d only have one chance at happiness, or maybe even love. But none of that turned out to be true because you weren’t true. You were like cellophane, you weren’t someone capable of sustaining love, were you? You disappeared right away. Those times don’t count because you only just decided to count them as merciful."
She was so tired of fighting, whether it was with her words or her body or even mentally against the opposing forces of the world, but she was exhausted, and for once in her life, she thought of conceding, of just nodding with a 'whatever you say' thrown in and walking away, returning to the lonesome life she had been living for the past few months. to the solitude only interrupted by her hunger, which she would banish with a night of pleasure before continuing on. "Well it'd be much easier if you did." she replied.
As he spoke, Roslyn became only more frustrated, because this is where their differences were so blatantly obvious. She was cold, hard, fact, while he was warm, soft, metaphors and similes. It was like a language barrier of sorts, making conversations such as these endlessly baffling. Like cellophane? What in the hell did he mean by that? She was a clear plastic? Her mind was most certainly not in the right place for this sort of conversation. "Maybe I'm not, maybe I wasn't, but none of that really matters now, does it?"
He hadn’t been expecting her to say anything, just like back then when everything happened. But he was angry and frustrated so he turned around. “Because coincidences are chance events meant to bring two things together, and this isn’t that. They’re suppose to happen when both parties want them, that’s not the case here.” He looked at her, he had been so good at reading her. Even now, the only difference was that he didn’t want to. He simply wanted the truth without having to scope it out of her. “For leaving without any explanation, for dropping off the face of the earth thinking that it wasn’t something selfish to do. For thinking that there would be no consequences to it. For not giving me any options, Roslyn.”
Her hot anger began to thaw the cold face she put on, she was utterly and completely done with having to explain herself to everyone about everything, she was done with being underestimated.
"You think I didn't realize that? You think I thought I was being a martyr? I know what I did was brash, I knew what I was doing would have consequences, I knew it would hurt you. But you want to know something? I really didn't give a shit, because I thought it was better to hurt you than for you to end up dead. And, I really don't care if making that choice makes me a horrible person, portray me as the villain in your story, Robert, go ahead, hate me. I've accepted that I can't control everything anymore, so if you want to hate me, I can't stop you."
As much as he willed himself to look at her and try to make the conversation light, Robert had never been one to force things. He couldn’t pretend that even after so long seeing her didn’t bring up any old feelings, and old feelings with personal growth didn’t mix well. “It doesn’t have to be a coincidence.” He said turning around to leave. He had so many questions, but he knew she wouldn’t answer them. Not now, not like this. Closure wasn’t something people got in real life. “I deserved an explanation.” Robert called out, barely audible as he walked.
"If not a coincidence, than what is it?" she asked, crossing her arms stubbornly, her body language daring him to disagree, as it did in almost every conversation she had...With anyone, really. It had been a long time since she hadn't done, since she had felt comfortable enough to let down the wall of cold arrogance and wit.
Ever since her change, her senses had been faintly intensified, and having been well fed only helped, and hearing him was easy. "For what, exactly?"
"And to be fair, I didn’t know that. I’m at Penn State." He didn’t have to tell her that, he didn’t have to tell her anything. But part of him hoped that by offering a piece of information, she’d do the same. She looked stoic, just like the day she broke it off.
"Well then, looks like we have a divine coincidence on our hands." she stated, her eyes drifted from his face and she attempted to make the action look relaxed, as if it were out of habit rather than emotional distress.
"Out of all the towns both of us could chose for some reason or another...We both chose this one." Though, Roslyn wouldn't have been surprised if Robert's appearance had something to do with Piper and her thinking that seeing her own past love would help the dark haired girl find her humanity again.
