I shot this in the apartment I stayed at in Nolita NYC.
The apartment is lined up to take in the morning sun so perfectly.
I particularly like the flare, the daydreamy atmosphere that isn't solely in the camera, but in real life.

I shot this from The New Museum on The Bowery NYC.
I shot this of Virginia Ann Collins at Barnsdall Park above Los Feliz in Los Angeles.
Its one of my favorite non-portrait portraits.
Something about the graceful line her hair draws, the way one arm is in light, the other in silhouette.
Her one floating eye lash is so poetic to me
I shot this from my balcony in the Silver Lake hills above Los Angeles.
Needless to say I never tire of the view
Embers (2016)
Poetic, Profound film. More movies should be made this way, feel this way. Heavy, Light, all at the same time.
Ive learned two very important things from this film; live each day like its your last and you really don’t need a lot, material or abstract, to be happy in this world.
I just saw this film at the Archlight Hollywood. I ran into Claire Carre, the director, a couple of times at the screening; she was always so sweet to say hi to me.
Its amazing that its her first.
Im hoping she has a long and significant career in fiim.
July 29 2016 Friday
I’m going to start a second Tumblr. It will be my personal Diary with accompanying snapshots.
This particular, original Tumblr will solely be for my photography.
My face looks shockingly old here. I’ve been shocked how much I’ve seemed to age over the last couple of years. I don’t feel old, but my heart does. Figuratively speaking of course. I should be thankful that I have my health. But it’s a constant daily, hourly fight, to remind myself of the good things. My mind spends most of its time dwelling on the bad things. It's difficult to stop because I don't sleep well and I'm not thinking straight.
I shot this of Amanda.
I always love this time of day, the light it offers, the mood
I shot this from my balcony in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles.
I never tire of the view from my apartment
I shot this of Paula at Venice Beach.
Ive always thought she has the most soulful eyes.
I shot this of Kristin at Venice Beach.
I like the depth, the focus, the triangle shapes and flip flops
I shot this of Kristin at Venice Beach.
I like the candid fixing of hair, the diagonals, the hint of one eye.
Intelligentsia, Silver Lake, Los Angeles July 24 2016
July 24 2016 Full circle It seems like years since I've been to Intelligentsia this often. It's nice that some of the employees still remember me. This is the first ever coffee place I started sitting and reading at on a regular basis when I first took up the practice as a form of meditation. Now it's looking like I'll be here more often. Like the beginning. Oh, this is my bike btw. Something I am still enammored with all these years
July 23 2016 Saturday evening
The fire over the hill in Santa Clarita has parked this cloud over L.A.
Still ridiculously tired, no sleep, always worried about being alone in the far future. Fuck
7/23/16 Saturday continued
After the beach I drove up to Bar Nine, read my book and had an iced latte. I’m a cappuccuno guy but twas still too warm for one. The many chrome fixtures rising from the bar are always fantastic to see.
I stopped by The Platform in Culver City; a new high-end-independent retail group. Fucking Blue Bottle has a store there, and it looks just like all the other boring Blue Bottle store interiors
I also swung by Echo Park Lake and saw the fantastic arch that's part of "CURRENT:LA Water Public Art Biennial".
7/23/16 Saturday I started the day at Woodcat. After lunch I went to Santa Monica Beach where a strange fog rolled in. It's rare to see during Summer, but welcome because it's been so warm lately. I was dreading a 100 degree day today but so happily surprised that it only reached the high 80's due to the huge Santa Clarita fire cloud hanging over the city that is completely blotting out the sun.
7/22/16 Friday Stopped by Dinosaur Coffee around 6pm, one of their customers was the tall half Asian looking kid (and his very pretty girlfriend) who works at Cielo Espresso way over in Santa Monica.. Small world. At 7:30pm it's still 85 degrees. First hot day of the year, but seems to be cooling down rapidly
