grounds for a tee shirt made in response to andy warhol ‘fragile’ paper dresses, and a documentary on women in pop art and my own feelings and thinking about fragile femininity. the words are from women chanting in a women lib rally and i really liked them, they’re drawn on with sharpie. the rest of the garment is printed with lino ink mixed with screen print medium, and I'm gonna put it through the was and see if it lasts. I actually made sleeves and assembled this garment, though have no photos, but i obviously don't know enough about making something from scratch because it didn't fit in the slightest!

sketchbook drawing plan for a bag that i made tom an then the final thing. I tried to emulate the banners made in the ban the bomb protests, with the obvious stitching and rudimentary font. The nucelear bomb bit didn’t work as well as i’d hoped- i used spray paint, which looks okay but had to add the cloud at the bottom of the mushroom because i needed to cover the ‘dominoes’ design on the bag that was still showing through

knitting samples that i tried after i made the ‘no’scarf, trying out ways to not let the fabric curl and tying how to change colours without the spots around the coloured design- which i eventually worked out. i quite like this, and think i will continue knitting new experiments into this same sample, and end up with one long scarf of mismatched bits.

scarf i made for tom at xmas inspired by dada and a Louise Bourgeoise letter press print. this was my first time trying out lettering in knitting, and working it out myself which lead to a few rough edges. i like the idea of having stretched and bloated text on wool, and it’s something i’ll experiment with more
