hi, if i've never watched the roswell tv shows but am interested in the concept, would i be okay in this group? is there any previous knowledge i would need to have?

Hi! Nope, you do not need to have previous knowledge to be here. Quite a bit of it will be AU to the shows and anything we use from the shows will be explained so everyone knows what’s going on. All the plot drops will have all of the knowledge you will need.

around how old are the canon characters like liz, maria, etc?

Since our first app for Isabel Evans has her as 26, I'm going to say between 26-30. That way they could all still be classmates but you have a little freedom with their ages. Max, Michael, and their counterparts will need to be 26 though.

Hi hi! This looks so amazing, I’m working on apps as we speak. But a question did come to mind. In terms of the 1999 series, what are your thoughts on/plans for characters like Tess Harding? I noticed in the Plot, when it discusses what each can do, it is listed that there are six (assuming 3 from 1999/3 from 2019), and that Isabel can manipulate people’s minds, as I recall that was Tess’ power in the original while Isabel manipulated matter and could dreamwalk (not sure if it’s different in the new version as I haven’t watched it). Are you doing away with Tess’ character entirely and transferring that power to Isabel here? Also, what would that mean in terms of the overarching plot of the Royal Four from the 1999 series? Just curious, no shade at all! Just want to make sure I understand before I app!

I'm so happy you think so, I can't wait to see your apps! Okay so I'm glad you asked, Tess, and that whole plot will be brought in at a later date. So essentially it will be a plot drop in the future. So she will still keep the powers that she had, just Isabel will have it as well. Also, whoever apps for Isabel from the original version can add in the dream walking as a power she will get later on or hasn't quite discovered yet. Or they can have it where she develops the ability from alien turquoise. I will add information about it on its own page, to help everyone out. I will add tess in as a npc for now, so everyone will know.

*Aliens are also able to amplify their abilities to augment them or even to their highest extent when holding or even in the proximity of energized alien turquoise. With this they can even completely develop a new ability, or their true ability, (i.e. Isobel Evans, developing her true ability of "Empathy", allowing her to sense and feel emotions, until she learned to develop it completely to use it without the turquoise). - from the roswell wiki

Thoughts on where Priscilla Quintana could fit? And would she be wanted?

I could see her as Half-Oasian or Human. As for jobs, I could see her as a relationship counselor, pediatrician, nurse, or dance teacher. Yes, she is definitely wanted!

Okay, so I updated the plot a tad and added a counterpart page to explain how we can have all the characters from each show. I hope that can help with the confusion and if you have any more questions or suggestions please send them my way.

i'm sorry to bring it up again but is you allow both canon versions does that mean we can apply for liz parker and liz ortecho? how would that work out in terms of everyone else involved... it seems a little confusing, i'm sorry if i made it worse

Don't apologize, I don't want anything to be confusing. Yes, you can apply for them both. Since the shows have different lore, for the most part, a lot of the stuff the characters go through is completely different. So although they both are the main characters of their perspective shows, it's as if they're from two different worlds ( or AU's). Now in terms of Max, since his name is the same on both shows, as well as Michael. One of the characters would need to go by Maxwell or some other longer version of Max, as well as the same for Michael. Or if it's easier for everyone, we could change the second to be applied for's name altogether ( and just make a note like this is *Max Evans from the original Roswell or vice versa in the app and somewhere on your page). Now as far as everyone else goes and since they’re all in one world here, it would just be like non of the stuff in either show has really happened (*yet) except you can keep their backgrounds/history from before whichever show started. So Michael from the 2021 version, can interact with Michael from the 1999 version like they’re two different people because they pretty much are. Also since the aliens were found the same way in both shows, we could have it where all six of them were found together and are each other’s counterparts or clones. I could type something up to add to the plot/pages to flesh it out a bit more if that would help?

Okay I just have to say this is everything I’ve been waiting for! But I do have a quick question- I’m a little confused by what was said about bringing in the different characters from the different shows. I know Michael and Alex were used as the example, but what if the situation were reversed? I.e. in the 1999 version Alex was Alex Whitman and he was in love with Isabel Evans. In that case would there be two Alex characters allowed? Or, two Isabels for that matter, since 1999 is IsAbel Evans and the recent one is IsObel Bracken (I believe? I know it’s the married name but still). Thanks so much! I hope that wasn’t too confusing!

You have no idea how happy that makes me, I can't wait to open up and see what everyone brings to this roleplay! I honestly didn't think about that anon so I'm glad you asked. Yes, in those cases there can be two Alex's and Isabels, just whoever brought in the second Isabel/Isobel or Alex would have to go by a nickname. Or in the case of Alex maybe go by ALexander. Nope, not confusing at all, you explained it very well.
