also something really important to note: the vks don’t have good communication skills. they cannot express their feelings and they cannot process their emotions. they were never afforded the opportunity, nor did they have role models to adopt the ability to self soothe. it was always survival of the fittest on the isle, and having heart to hearts when things didn’t go well just never happened. it was always just fend for yourselves and take care of anyone who got in your way.

how do you feel about interacting with multiple evies, bens, carloses, jays, umas and others?

i’m a huge fan of world building and creating lasting dynamics between muses that cross into all threads/plots/etc. i like mains/exclusives. with that being said, i’ve pretty much wiped the slate clean and am starting from scratch with my list, except for @crimscnmalice who i always have as mal’s mother. so for the moment i am up for interacting with different portrayals of each character.

                  𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘

Mal’s creation was one of science. But her birth and life was one of love. Raised by her mother alone, Mal grew up with the best childhood. At times a spoiled brat, she was a handful of a child. Mal grew up curious and hungry for knowledge. But it was also difficult. Her mother, Mistress of All Evil, was feared by many and so too was Mal. Because of this, Mal also grew up in a constant state of survival and defensiveness. Often, in order to avoid a broken heart or impending rejection, Mal was a bully and pushed people away before they could get too close or learn who she and her mother really were. This attitude and behavior saw to Mal’s self-induced isolation for a long time.

Her lack of invitation to Evie’s birthday party saw to a bitter rivalry for years until the girls suddenly found themselves unlikely allies. Eventually, Carlos and Jay joined the party. Through this alliance, Mal grew to understand friendship and loyalty and trust. TCF would often hang out at Mal’s place when they weren’t looking for mischief around the Isle. But it only extends so far. She is still wary of anyone else.

This is even more clear when TCF is invited to Auradon. Mal is especially mean to AKs. But, perhaps, there’s more to them than meets the eye…

                  𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄

1) When TCF goes to Auradon, there is no mission to steal the wand and take it back to the Isle. Instead, Mal creates a mission for herself to push every single AK away and introduce them to some fun mischief at the same time.

2) REGARDING BAL: My canon =/= movie canon here, at all. The love spell was a spell gone wrong. What was intended to be a cookie meant to keep AKs away became the opposite, due to Mal misreading the spell’s directions and ingredients (because she had had no practical firsthand experience with magic since magic was banned on the isle). She’d intended to give the cookies to several AKs who seemed too friendly for her tastes, and Ben had just happened to be the first person to receive one. Only it was a disaster. Do not assume that my Mal is dating Ben, or even likes him romantically. I am open to it, but there must be discussion between myself and the mun of that character.

3) Do not assume that my Mal will like your character. She is mean and spiteful and will lash out if she thinks she is starting to like your character even a little bit.

4) My Mal loves and respects her mother, Maleficent. She does not fear her or want to be evil like her mom. She wants to impress her, of course, but only as much as any child would want to impress their guardian/parent.

don’t forget that canon likes to skew our perception of these characters and make it seem like ak’s are these good and kind kids and the vk’s are terrible awful people – when in reality, the ak’s are a prime example of privilege and the vk’s are oppressed impoverished and abused.
