 AS  ADAM  MADE  HIS  WAY  TOWARD  THE  FRONT  CHAMBER  to  greet  mal  ,      he  cast  his  gaze  around  ,      inspecting  each  thing  to  make  certain  it  looked  perfect  .      everything  was  set  ,      prepared  and  perfected  upon  ben’s  insistence  .      mal  was  to  arrive  and  stay  for  the  weekend  and  its  subtle  festivities  ,      and  his  son  had  wanted  the  place  spotless -             not  that  it  wasn’t  already  spotless  ,      but  apparently  it  hadn’t  been  good  enough  .      for  her  ,      they’d  had  a  room  all  set  aside  and  ready  to  be  made  home  for  the  few  days  she’d  be  here  .      and  when  he  spotted  her  ,      he  smiled  warmly  .      ❛      mal  .      ❜     he  reached  a  hand  out  .      ❛      ben’s  still  getting  ready  .      he  should  be  down  soon  .      we’re  glad  to  have  you  .      ❜

          MAL  WAS  LUCKY.  she  knew  it,  couldn’t  have  forgotten  it  even  if  she’d  tried  to.  not  everyone  got  the  treatment  she  did,  much  less  a  villain’s  kid.  dating  the  crown  prince  (  being  engaged  to  the  prince  )  did  have  its  perks.  she  loved  ben  in  a  way  she  hadn’t  even  known  was  possible,  but  the  adjustment  from  the  isle  to  auradon  was  hard  enough  as  it  was  without  the  added  attention  and  pressure  with  being  the  future  queen  of  auradon.  the  palace  was  extravagant,  more  extravagant  than  mal  had  even  been  expecting                  but  she  puts  on  her  best  smile  and  curtsies  (  is  that  even  right?  )  for  her  boyfriend’s  father.  ❛  thanks  for  having  me  here.  the  house  looks                   amazing.   ❜
